Try this quiz, which is apparently based on the latest Home Office booklet advising people seeking to become British Citizens.

I got 12 right - and one that I got wrong is because the Home Office got it wrong - so there!
I do have a serious reason for making this thread which is curiosity about whether other Members (especially British) are in tune with the Home Office.
(Edited to add the link to the quiz, which may or may not be helpful.)

Eight right out of 24! I'm expecting a knock on the door from immigration control at any moment (and I've lived here all my life).
I did laugh at the "Down the pub" questions though.

Five right. Apparently I know diddly about being British.

Seven right, but only 15 questions in the test. And they were, in the main, incredibly stupid questions...

Ah, right, I misread it - the 24 questions are from the full "official" test.

Hmmm... well it seems my thread is exposing some people who have just been pretending to be British, mentioning no names Richard and Ian.

I got 5 right. Being a member of the Commonwealth isn't enough I guess...

Nine out of fifteen, I'm apparently more British than certain Brits. Thoufh some of them I answered based on non-British knowledge. Calling 112 in an emergency is fx EU standard, and Santa Cluas comes from the North Pole in DK as well.

According to our press millions and millions of people are trying to invade our little island year in year out.... (Oh and most of your founding fathers. :) )

I got only 4!! Does that mean that I, as a southern Californian, do not understand you Brits or that I have been spending too much time at my own personal pub (read, fridge) tonight?

It depends on which ones you did get right...

According to my sparky it's about 230V at the socket, but it still hurts like hell is a live wire hits you :D
The test was interesting, it appeared on another board I use yesterday. A lot depends on if you answer it how you think the home office would want you to or how things actually are in the real world. Based on the former I only got the Saint one wrong, based on reality it would have been rather less than that.

Only 3 right (less than one would expect from random guessing).
I really though all those years of watching Benny Hill would have helped. Unlike most of my fellow USAians, I understand the punch line to Mr. Hill's scolding teacher routine:
I can't believe how poorly you all scored on this test. Question 3 was "what is the hottest part of the sun" and Tommy wrote, "page 3."

5. I would have done just as well guessing randomly (which I did in some cases).

I only got 5 right. :(
And only 1 of the 5 was because I actually knew the answer (Magna Carta! And I thought I was completely hopeless at history.)

I got only 8 right...(they are obviously now going to make me pack and go back to Eastern Europe...)

Its not hard. Just talk with a silly accent and say things like "eh, what" and "bloody" a lot and wear a bowler hat.

Yeah, I got 9, and really should have gotten 3 others right. Not bad for a Southern Redneck.

Hmm … Not sure whether I could pass for British, as I scored nine. True, I am a product of immigration, but perhaps that’s not much of an excuse as the last of my immigrant ancestors got here nearly a hundred years ago.
I did get all the pub questions right.

I got 7. I wonder how many Americans giggle when they get to the "solicitor" question.
