It is now the middle of June and the United States Supreme Court is about to wind up its business and ending the 2004-2005 term. (The 2005-2006 term will start in October.)
There are a few decisions in controversial cases yet to be handed down, and it is virtually certain that there will be lots of unhappy people regardless of which way the cases are decided.
Be on the lookout for Kelo v. City of New London: this case deals with the government taking private real estate for a "public use" that is in reality the benefit of a private commercial enterprise.
And of course, the big bomshells might be Van Orden v. Perry and McCreary County v. ACLU of Kentucky, which deal with public displays of the Ten Commandments.
The next few days could be very interesting.
