View Full Version : Lifegazer's "Philosophy" Invented By L Ron Hubbard

Hubbard created an entire cosmology, the essence of which was that the true self of an individual was an immortal, omniscient, and omnipotent entity... they concocted the universe for their own amusement, but in the process became so enmeshed in it that they came to believe they were nothing more than the bodies they inhabited. So, it turns out that lifegazer's philosophy was invented by an egomaniac crackpot with delusions of grandeur --- who'd have thought it?

Will John Travolta be making a movie out of any of LG's writings though?

I have to challenge "invented" here. Hubbard didn't invent it. He just took the basic idea from several religions that already existed and added his own spin to it - all he did was "adapt" it.
But his "adaptation" is remarkably similar to Darren's, save the rather important difference that Hubbard made a vast amount of money out of his version.

Agreed. So lifegazer is either lying (because he has read all those real philosophies) or blatantly ignorant and a ruthless egomaniac.
One thing is true, his arrogance is as high as Hubbard's, with the noted difference about Hubbard being a genius in making money out of his ideas (which are more complex than what is depicted in the OP).

I have no idea what Hubbard's metaphysical preferences are.
I know he knew very well that a lot of money could be made by starting a cult with the deliberate intention of brainwashing people and getting them to devote most of their income into his pockets.
Does he believe that the spirits of dead aliens killed by Xemu thousands of years ago inhabit modern-day humans? Somehow, I doubt it, but that is part of the myth his "followers" have to swallow as fact. :D
