Whales have leg bones so that human beings may cut them up into decorative ornaments such as piano keys! Because God says so!

God is very sneaky with a twisted sense of humor. He does stuff like that just to mess with our minds and test faith.

*chuckle* I was wondering who would notice....

Yes, the all-knowing father figure needs to test faith...why?
Wouldn't he already know?

Just a thought....

You're pretty smart for a sinner.

Well, of COURSE he knows. But he does it for us! You know, like the way he had to kill himself (for a whole weekend) for us. He knows what's best and we need faith.

We just can't understand God's ways. He has reasons for tricking us with things that "look" like evolution.

If we can't understand God's ways, then how can God be worshiped? If we can know nothing of Him in all His Glory, then how do we know we're doing the right thing? Prayer and worship become impossible, thus religion becomes null.

He tricked me pretty good...is in MY fault for falling for it? He'll punish me for falling for a trick of His own devising? Sounds like a grade-school bully, and hardly what I'd look for in a father-figure.

Oh..and Sin implies Guilt...thus, no sin for me!

He knew you'd ask that. That's why he gave us the Bible! ;-)

Exactly. Really, what match would a trick be from a god for a human anyway?

Ditto. No bullies, no guilt.

For the life of me, I don't know how people can respect the predominant god of our culture, let alone worship it.

*chuckle*

Had I not read the other thread with the cookies, I might have suspected a troll in our midst...but good-natured banter is a decent way to spend a morning at work.

At any rate:

The Bible. Sent by God, is it? Really? Written with his own hand? Which version? Which books?

And that's not tearing apart the content...that's a different thread altogether.(which has been done on this forum, BTW)

'Dominant god'...hmm...maybe for the US, though the Hindus and Islamics have a larger share of folks, worldwide. ANY god, I would say. Randfan was a believer at one time, as I understand it. It is COMFORTING to believe. Even in conspiriacy theories. It is comforting to know that the universe is in the hands of someone, anyone, who actually knows what the smurf is REALLY happening. Unfortunately, this is not true. We are all, in truth, responsible for controlling ourselves. It's a scary thought for some to face.

Oh..and Sin implies Guilt...thus, no sin for me! Homer was struggling with this one..
