On my old Windows 98 computer I had downloaded (and created myself) some interesting Themes which included icons, wallpapers, event sounds, etc. It appears that for Windows XP (my new system) that not a lot is available. Anyone know of any good ones? The nice thing about the old Desktop Architect was that it would change to another random theme once a week.
I particularly like some of the ones I've put together.
Hanna Barbera (from the HB sound effects disc) -- as often as I change windows, minimize and maximize, etc, this sounds like the wildest Pixie and Dixie cartoon ever. Really fun is having the Jetsons' doorbell sound for when email arrives, Jet Screamer's arrival for startup, and spindizzywhoopclonk for emptying the Recycle Bin. It sometimes takes a bit of explaining when I have support on the phone, though.
Tron (extracted from the DVD movie) -- practically required for a computer. I'm still always a little creeped out when I shut down the computer and the Master Control Program says "End of Line."
Taekwondo (from sounds I taped during a few classes) -- again, when I get to changing screens a lot, it sounds like a Bruce Lee fight.
Oddly enough I haven't done a Star Trek one yet though I have that effects disc.
Some of the pre-made themes I downloaded for the previous system just didn't sit right. You don't want a five-second wav or a quote playing every time you maximize a screen or have a menu item pop up. It's a trick to getting the sounds to match the function and not be annoying.
