The quack industry thrives, people suffer as a result, and federal and
state governments simply sit back with earplugs and blindfolds in place.
They don't care, because any action on their part might annoy a voter.
That is not it. You do not dare take action against your contributors
or they give the money to someone else and you loose the election.

In what other age has anyone been able to see the Earth
rise in the night sky from the surface of the Moon?
I believe, quite rightly, that in order to see this you must run around
the moon. Otherwise, the Earth has a rather nasty habit of staying in
a fixed position within the sky when you do not move.
