Do I qualify as a skeptic? :)

I like Ken Wilber, but then I guess that's to be expected.

Well after looking at a few of his articles and checking out his wiki-pedia ref I’d say he was a joke.
To sum up: He has no real academic background, a masters in chemistry and biology (that’s more than I got so he must be able to “develop the unified field theory of coconscious”)
Why does he find it necessary use every Metaphysical buzz word in every single paragraph.
He shaves his head, white guys’ look like mental patients with shaved heads.

From Wikipedia:

"Wilber's response might be that his theory is actually a 'rational reconstruction of a trans-rational state of consciousness'. In effect, Wilber concedes the ultimate futility—from a rational perspective—of his quest. His writings point beyond the rational to the mystical."

Why do people who acknowledge the rational futility of their philosophy spend so much time talking about it?

Paul, I have to answer that, because Im in the same situation. There are some things that lie out of current models and explanations of the universe. Some of them are not obscure quantum melodies nor have cosmological implications, they are as close as the everyday living, we just have learned a way not to "see" them.

When faced with "that" it seems obvious that one should remain in silence, a la Wittgenstein, yet, some part of the ego is not satisfied with that notion.

Thats why an attempt should be made, even if its flawed. Of course, one has to have a good sense of responsability, and respect for oneself.

Thats why you dont listen about my theories! (still) :D
