I play games on occasions. I do a hell of a lot of reading so the text needs to be easily readable on the monitor. I would prefer to buy online unless cheaper in a normal shop (store). So which 19 inch TFT monitor is the best, and where should I buy it from?

Thanks.

P.S.: As a point of interest, here is the monitor I own:

http://www.cmishop.com/store/ShowDetails.asp?txtProductName=P815-BX&txtMfgPartNo=P815&nCategorySubID=125&txtSiteTrack=FG

I paid $2,100 for it in March 1997.

Forget about 19s, get a 20, but not anyone, you like games, you need a fast monitor. What about getting 1600x1200? this is absolutely the best:

http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/ProductDetail.aspx?c=us&l=en&cs=19&sku=320-1578&category_id=4009

With a coupon, it will be cheaper than most 19s too.

It's $750 which probably translates into about £650!! I said £200.

Is this (http://www.morecomputers.co.uk/textra.asp?pn=VX912) monitor any good?

Or what about this? (http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B000788W50/qid=1120696610/sr=8-1/ref=pd_ka_1/202-7749190-6137412)

I would bet that both uses the same panel. Same specs. You will be good with any of them.

I can't believe the reviews are so good for such a cheap monitor. Makes me suspicious. I'll look for reviews elsewhere.

Where it says:

"TFT active matrix"

Is it referring to either:

TH + Film matrices
IPS matrices
MVA matrices or
PVA matrices???

I've had a brief skim through this (http://www.xbitlabs.com/articles/other/display/lcd-guide.html) article where it mentions these differing types.

Found somewhere where it states TN.

These TFT monitors sound quite bad as compared to CRT's. What are peoples' real world experiences though??

Do people on here prefer CRT or TFT? Comments please. :)
