Subway Fracas Escalates Into Test Of the Internet's Power to Shame

If you no longer marvel at the Internet's power to connect and transform the world, you need to hear the story of a woman known to many around the globe as, loosely translated, Dog Poop Girl.
Recently, the woman was on the subway in her native South Korea when her dog decided that this was a good place to do its business.
The woman made no move to clean up the mess, and several fellow travelers got agitated. The woman allegedly grew belligerent in response.
What happened next was a remarkable show of Internet force, and a peek into an unsettling corner of the future.
One of the train riders took pictures of the incident with a camera phone and posted them on a popular Web site. Net dwellers soon began to call her by the unflattering nickname, and issued a call to arms for more information about her.

With fingers that long she should take up the piano.
On a sceptical note, that pic seems extremely hi-res for a camera phone. Can you really get them that good, or is the reporter mistaken in this?

I love the expressions of horrified disgust on the people standing up.
I mean, I know it's rude to let your dog poop there, but they're reacting like poop is the last thing they ever expected to see come out a dog's rear. Do dogs in Korea usually crap candy or something?

Both.
It's mind boggling how fast the world has been educated on this important issue. Let's lobby for poop legislation before we have a crisis here at home.

This seems to me a good second choice.
the first would have been cleaning the mess up with her dog. It looks fluffy and absorbant enough.

You get them far better than that.

That was one crappy picture.

A great solution --- I just tried this same method with a neighbor who refuses to clean up after his dog. I went out and took a "caught in the act" photo and printed up a few flyers which I've posted around the neighborhood telling people that I have set up a website which will feature pictures of anyone who is ignoring the 'scoop' ordinance. I mailed the flyer to the Animal Control Department, and hopefully they will be embarrassed at their inaction to these scofflaws, and they'll come around and issue citations as the law requires.
BTW, the guy who saw me take the photo flipped me the finger and screamed at me that he would come over and break my phone --- to which I replied calmly, "Brilliant, now you're adding misdemeanor assault to the misdemeanor littering! I sure hope you have lots of spare cash and a good lawyer" and I turned to walk away.
Then to my amazement, the dog, realizing what a jerk his owner was being, proceeded to clean up after himself. I quickly snapped another photo:
