Like RandFan, I'm going to have to give up participation on the board for a while. Except for the last couple of days I haven't been participating much over the last two weeks. That's because I don't have as much time for it. I'm going to be busy on a couple of projects, one behind the other.
Whether it is AUP or UCE on one side or JK on the other with whom you disagree, none of them are completely wrong. When they express their anger over some policy or another, rather than taking it personally and responding with attacks on their character, try understanding what it is they are angry about and why. If you are so convinced you are right, then there is no reason to get bent out of shape. Try dialog rather than diatribes.
Whether or not you convince them to agree with you, you can still benefit from learning about their perspective. You may even cause them to reaccess at least part of their position, whether or not they acknowledge it, and they may do the same for you. We don't all see it from the same angle, and none of us sees the whole picture.
