Went to the symphony last night. Sort of....The St. Louis Symphony Orchestra has a summer program called the Gateway Festival Orchestra, which plays free concerts outdoors at the university where I work.
Very free-form, folks bring lawn-chairs, blankets, and what have you, as well as picnic baskets.
Last night, after a progam of French composers including Frank, they featured a friend of ours who specializes in French songs...Edith Piaf, Michel Legrand, and that sort of thing.
She performed several numbers with the orchestra, then we all sat in the quadrangle and had wine, cheese, and other goodies.
Though it was very hot during the day, the evening brought in a nice breeze and it was quite pleasant.
