Help!

I need a bootdisk that will enable me to read and write from a very sick Windows machine. I have a working machine with a CD burner but no floppy disk. I have a CD that has an NTFS view utility, but no ability to copy the files off the sick machine or delete them. I have a CD with a Knoppix-based Linux installation which also doesn't work on the sick machine (it's okay on this one).

At the very least all I need is a simple command.com shell to remove the files (they are copies of my bank statements, before you all start jumping to conclusions :D), In an ideal world it would be better still to be able to copy the files across a network, but I'd settle for "Gone".

I'm struggling to find such a thing :(

Potentially free - start reading here: http://www.sysinternals.com/Utilities/NtfsDos.html

Thanks chaps, I think I'm sorted now - but I had to find a machine with a working floppy to get it done easily in the end, it seems that most of the CD image versions were transgressing the unwritten rule that meant the PC would fail.

What a frustrating problem.

At work, we've come accross machines that have had the Operating system destroyed pretty badly, and being Laptops that are absolutely hell to get the drive out of, I made a Preinstall Environment disk from this site:

http://www.nu2.nu/pebuilder/

It's essentialy an Operating system on a CD, rather than on the harddrive. The build I used enables me to map network drives, has a small explorer-like file utility, will run disk check, Anti-Virus scan, and a Spy-ware scan. (Unfortunatly, updating the definitions is difficult, but it's a start).

I've rescued several computer's files' using it.
