View Full Version : Change a dynamic disk back to normal disk on Windows 2000

I read that it can't be done, unless you buy something.

I want to install windows 2000 on this disk, but of course, I can't, because it's a dynamic disk.

Typical Microsoft, they make a feature, that breaks everything else.

I wanted to ask "what's a dynamic disk" but I did a google search for "Dynamic Disk" and thi was the FIRST LINK.

I know you googled for your answers first, right?

No matter what else, you could always grab a Knoppix disk, and use QTparted to write a whole new partition table. I garuntee that'll fix it.

I was hoping I wouldn't have to wipe it, though. Wiping it will work, no problems.

I seem to recall there was a warning about dynamic disks being a one-way street. No turning back.

Looks like you will need to back the contents up, redo the hardware config, and load it all back on... :(
