For those "flippant and arrogant" athiests, myself included, I suggest this if your local radio station is on commercial or you cant listen to NPR's beg-a-thon anymore.

Switch over to A.M. and find yourself a nice bible thumping station. They are great! The hypocrosy and stupidity is awsome. Of course some stuff is pretty main stream and kind of boring, but I find the morning programs that play, when all the normal people should be at work, are the best.

Some recent Gems I have heard:

"Thank God for giving us the bible, without it we'd just have to read magaziens and think thoughts!"

"The buddist really buy into the myth, this fantasy of re-incarnation, they actually believe it!"

If you cant find a good station, look out for pick up trucks and check thier rear fenders. That's where I found my favorite one.

O.
:)

PS
Of course you ocasionally get offended, Like when you hear of the cristian youths going over to preach to the Tsunami survivers to explain to them that "praying and sacrificing to spirits" got them nothing, and they should be praing to Jesus. Normally a loud exclamation of "You Arrogant Small Minded F***ERS" normaly works for me.

Im a AM fan as well, Rush and his clones are just as silly as the fundies. What I really dont get is the people who spend all morning trying to call in just to stroke his ego and tell him how great he is. The multitude of advice shows are good for a chuckle how do I get that job anyone can do it.

"I am a alchoholic what do I do?"
"Stop Drinking"
"OMG you save my life what a genius!"

I like the religious shows too even thuogh I dont believe any of it, I cant explain why. My favorate show on TV is Way of the Master with Kirk Cameron. He teaches you how to convert people on the street. The episode about santanism is priceless.

I used to work a midnight shift with another guy and the only "entertainment we had was an AM radio. He was actually a pretty devout Christian and we used to listen to the Reverend Roger Ely out of DelRio, Texas.

I'll have to admit that I was the worst influence on him possible as I began pointing out the discrepancies of the Reverend Ely's thinking. Fortunately, it was a happy ending as my co-worker eventually began questioning the Reverend Ely's assertions on his own which I'm sure led to greater things.

I can't, however, listen to any of the Hate Mongers (Limbaugh, etc.) on AM radio, they're such blatant idiots that my blood pressure immediately rises.

Way, way back in time, in my early 20s, I took a hiking trip in the Smokies with a couple. Driving thru the carolina and N. Georgia mountains, I kept trying to listen to the country preachers. Not for what they said, but the cadence, and musical attributes of the sermonizing. That is, HOW they said it. I couldn't listen much, tho, because the couple I was with refused to humor me. :p

There is a station I occassionaly listen to with a couple of inteligently enough sounding idiots. They stream of fallacy is often non-stop. Typical crap goes like this. "Hey, the two of us have been to the University and have studied evolution and science and you can rest assured the evidence is on the side of creation."

Oh well, hey, I'll go back to a life of ignorance knowing that you checked it all out for me.

Apparently Satan gave mankind a brain to tempt us into using it.

It's hard for me to enjoy the religious AM drivel. Once, however, I remember (on the FM dial) a show where somebody was attempting to try Christopher Columbus post-humous for his wrongdoings. That was fairly funny. Most religious rhetoric on the radio waves is like sand in my shoes.
