Entering "201 E Davie Blvd, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33316" into maps.google.com gives you a nice map/satellite image of the area. But you'll NEVER find The Amazing Island, Randi's secret lair in a hollowed out volcanic island somwhere in the tropics. ;)

@Richard,

your coordinates are a little out. JREF is located at

26° 6'28.38"N
80° 8'26.85"W

Here is a snapshot from Google Earth

If you would like the KMZ file I would be more than happy to email it to you.

Google Maps at this point in its development is obviously a very amazing technology with a lot of potential, but it's nonetheless riddled with an unbelievable number of mislabeled locations. From my experience with testing it by searching for places I'm familiar with, it seems that it actually gets the location wrong the majority of the time. There are also glaring omissions from its searchable catalogue. For instance, I asked it to find the Eiffel Tower, and the results were zilch. You can get Paris, but not the Eiffel Tower. Sheesh!

Thanks, but I see it now! Wow, gotta love it. JREF is only 9,345 miles from my place!

I've been there. To be truthful, the JREF building inside feels like a "house church", except there's no ministers, and the Asimov library is full of pseudoscientific junk.

I had a good look at a Scientology e-meter in there. I was not impressed.

Randi is a lovely person to meet. I encourage everybody to go meet him. Actually having met him, I challenge anyone to honestly characterise him as a "cult leader"
