Addressing Israel, Deif said: "We tell the Zionists who have desecrated our soil that all of Palestine will become a hell. Today you have left the hell of Gaza in shame and you are continuing to occupy Palestine. But we promise you that tomorrow all Palestine will be hell for you, God willing."

Hamas's political leaders in the West Bank and Gaza Strip also issued similar threats to Israel over the weekend. Probably a topic for another thread but........it's obvious that the Israeli pull-out from Gaza will not stop the violence.

Quite frankly---I think the absolute worse thing that could happen to the Palestinians would be if they get what they are asking for.......................The complete destruction of Israel.

Let's assume they succeeded----or the US decided to sell a chunk of Nevada to the Jews and they all re-located in the US.

There isn't a single Jew within 500 miles of what used to be Israel.

An unidentified suicide bomber rocked the center of the Negev capital of Be'er Sheva early Sunday

The man who carried out the Be'er Sheva suicide bombing was initially identified by Islamic Jihad as Ayman Za'aqiq, 25, of the village of Beit Umar, located between the West Bank cities of Bethlehem and Hebron. A statement by the group statement said he was an Islamic Jihad member.

However, Za'aqiq's family said later Sunday evening that he is currently being held in Israeli detention and therefore could not have carried out the suicide attack in Be'er Sheva. Military sources subsequently confirmed Za'aqiq had been arrested several days ago and is incarcerated by the Shin Bet security service.

So, who is really responsible? Well, according to the logic (?) of The Fool, the guy who detonated the bomb carries the weight of his own actions on his head (a head, it should be noted, which flew in several directions at the time of this explosion). So, that takes care of that. The buck stops with the homicide bomber himself.

I don't personally think of dismantling the settlements as an attempt to stop the bombers from bombing... I see it as simply taking action to correct a poor decision from the past. It lays the groundwork for peacemakers to work together--naturally killers aren't going to give a flying f*** and will keep on bombing. Perhaps with steps like these peacemakers will gain more influence over your average palestinian than killers--but it certainly wouldn't happen overnight.

They managed to secure their boarders. Peace treaty was sighned may 1997. No country on earth regoniosed them. Understanderble many have tradeing links with russia the rest didn't care. About 70,000 chechens died in that conflcit. The same for about 6000 russians.

1999 the russians came back. This time they were determined to win. They did of course. Death toll unkown estimates of chenchen deathtoll range from 50,000 to 100,000+ russian maybe as high as 20,000. Death amnoung children is unkown again probably in the 10,000s the russians have addoped tactics of saturation shelling.

So what should the chechen do? fight the russian forces? They will die and fail. Appeal to the international community? They wont care. Non violent action? That relies on someone careing.

The school massica you know one of the chenchen rebal leader oposed it. He's dead now as expetected. Killed by the russians.

Your picture is of a high school "Colour Guard." I don't know how these things work in Australia, but in the US this is about a half-dozen high school kids who practice marching around while holding a flag and twirling fake guns. Usually they coordinate witht the marching band, the drill team, and the cheerleaders (which I suppose could all be spun into paramilitary organizations using your unique brand of association) to provide the entertainment during sporting events, which includes presenting the flag while the national anthem is sung. It's purely decorative and ceremonial.

By contrast, the Palestinian-Arab children on the Life Magazine cover are much younger, and training with real weapons for a very real and deadly purpose.

My best guess is that the reference is to the mysterious gang of (naturally) "jewish bosses" who "controlled" Churchill and, by extension, the world, "causing" him to unfairly attack Nazi Germany. This story originated in Dr. Goebbles' propaganda broadcasts. Perhaps the story changed over time, as conspiracy theories are bound to do, with the Churchill gang now "really" discovered to be made up of Illuminati, or "zionists", or "Capitalists", or "the Clareton group", or "atheists", or whomever the current bogeyman that "really" rules the world is.

What any of this has to do with child soldiers is beyound me.

sorry web got no link for you ....this comes from my own general knowledge....They were a group of Danish schoolboys who participated in sabotage and resistance against the occupation...I would be surprise if there was nothing on the web but you may have to go deeper than skeptics No1 choice on google effort...

Can we hjave a defintion of modern here? If you mean existing today most of the major combatants in the DRC. If you mean an army based on the modern western stye a fairly clasic example would be the boer war. The British troops were haveing a hard time finding the rebels but they could find thier familes. locked them up in concentration camps. It worked.

Rather than outright killing western armies have tended to use other tatics such as forced addoption.
