Im looking for paintings of jesus..Early european paintings.


Im looking for one particular image where jesus is standing there holding his index finger and middle finger up as some peach sign but with closed fingers.

Im also looking for images drawn from dante's inferno,Or about the poem. Paintings of hell,The aramageddon. And one particular painting where there are about 5 skeletons standing around reading the bible. I saw these photographs on the history channel. The names of the artists I can't remember. But maybe some of you know.

So please post links to where alot of these images can be found,Espically early christian paintings and art.

Many of the artists im trying to find photo's for are from the 16,17 and 1800's Their paintings depicted the Apocalypse or hell espically. I remember on the history channel one of their names was "max" something...

Peach sign?

The gesture is a blessing, in Christian iconography. I'd wager that upwards of sixty percent of all non-crucified Jesus paintings have him making that gesture.

Yes that photo works lady,But the photos im looking for are in color. Espically the skeletons all reading a bible one. I think it's a german artist who painted it. From the 16-1700's I think. The paintings were on the history channel about the end of the world program.


Also..I meant to say peace sign.

For what it's worth, I know that both William Blake and Salvador Dali also executed illustrations for The Divine Comedy.

I typed "jesus fingers" in Google Image Search, and got this page (http://www.fitnfree.org/Second%20Rock.htm), that's where the images of Jesus ordering two beers come from. Maybe you could ask the webmaster where you can get them in higher resolution.

What do you need those pics for anyway? Your avatar tells me you're not just looking for pretty Jesus pictures to hang on your wall.

Actually all of the photo's im looking for are in color...None of them are from Dore. The skeleton one is where 5 or so skeletons(in color) are standing around all holding a bible and reading it. The photo you posted is nothing like that.

Also Yes,I think that's the program it was on. But Im not going to spend 10$ just to find a picture.
