SKY NEWS - SARS: UK QUARANTINE (http://www.sky.com/skynews/article/0,,30100-12291251,00.html)

An excerpt:

Boarding school pupils from Hong Kong who are being held in quarantine amid fears over the deadly Sars virus are today starting a 10-day activity programme.

About 155 children aged nine to 17 years were taken to the East Dene Centre on the Isle of Wight after flying into the UK yesterday.

The 10-day quarantine was organised by White House Guardianship, a support agency for foreign pupils studying in Britain, at the request of about 30 boarding schools.

Denea Wright, managing director of the residential education centre, has met a public health officer and local council representative.

I think it's a good idea. If this 10 day quarantine happened in the USA, people would most likely be screaming about civil rights and the ACLU would be filing lawsuits.
