i was at the bookstore yesterday, and ran across a book entitled "Why God Won't Go Away". being interested in the title, i read the the synopsis on the back cover. apparently the authors of this book argue that the human brain is hardwired for a belief in a supreme being. i didn't buy the book, or even page through it, but based on the synopsis i disagree completely. i was wondering if anyone here had heard of this before and if they had a better understanding of it. being completely agnostic, i have no belief in any greater power. if anyone has read this book, let me know if it's worth buying.

I have not really read that book but since I find neuroscience interesting,I tend to keep a track of these.
It must be of little help to expose my philosophy to you but when it comes to being "hardwired" for belief, that is a bit too easy to say but the idea itself as a whole is somewhat relevant. After all,it´s all in your head as it goes.
"Neurotheology" sounds like a frigging joke but such "schools" seem to actually be there,I guess.
Here´s a link that might appear helpful.
