I don't know. I kind of wish they had let the suit continue. Then maybe the astrologers would be forced to show how they can make such a statement based on the positions of the planets....

I find it amusing that:
He told the court that he was a "serious father" and risked being typecast by employers as a "skirt-chaser" and therefore unreliable.
but he wasn't bothered that employers would think he was the type of idiot that takes horoscopes seriously

A friend of mine is French; grew up in the French countryside. He comes from a tradition that accepts these types of things as fact and/or a viable alternative to science - even though both he and his parents are scientists/doctors. He uses homopathic remedies, and claims his mother (doctor) perscribes them and his father (pharmecist) said that most of modern medicine is bunk anyway. For a scientist, he's not very much of a skeptic. I think this is just part of the culture in that part of his country, so I'm not all that surprised that people there take this seriously.

Should probably post something on-topic, now...
From the way I read it, that guy might as well sue society for believing in voodoo or Oprahism.

Now that you bring it up, I'm not sure.

Yeah, it's definitely 50, unless they changed it since I got mine.

Haven't noticed the option yet. :) I suppose I could make 22 pointless posts about the inability of scientists to apply the scientific method to things outside their own research area - I had a professor talking about sharpening his razor by leaving it inside a pyramid last week. I was very surprised, and commented that it wouldn't work. His response - did you try it?
