That aside, the idea of secession is actually not a bad one. As long as they included the Muir Woods, they'd have a winner on their hands. A nice, cosmopolitan city-state by the sea- I could actually see it turning into an American Singapore with fewer laws. It'd sure be a healthier political climate than the rest of the US.

They'd have to make sure to avoid anything that'd give Shrub a pretext to invade them.... it'd be hard, but doable if they REALLY tried.

This is so sad. I talk to people from other countries daily. They really think we've become a police state run by a madman in some cases. The political shilling from our country seems to be getting to them with no "this is just politics" filter.
