Judge Orders Potter Books Back On Shelves
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - A federal judge ordered Harry Potter books back onto an Arkansas school district's library shelves Tuesday, rejecting a school board's claim that tales of wizards and spells could harm school children.
...
Yeah!
A win for the Light Side of the Force!
Some parent upset at the witchcraft references in the Harry Potter books managed to get a rule imposed that childern could only check these books out of the library if they had written permission from their parents.
However, cooler heads prevailed and this requirement was withdrawn and now children can check these books out as they would any other.
Yeah!
:D

this ruling disgusts me. my 10 year old twin girls, Mandy and Sandy, ran off to join a coven of witches 3 days after reading the latest installment of the harry potter series. when will the government wake up and ban these literary abonimations to our belief system?

Rhyming names for twins?
You're lucky they didn't just become homicidal maniacs, instead.

I remember telling friends in Boston what Arkansas was really like back in 93. They were shocked to find out their new president (who their state voted for in droves) came from the most backwards, inbred, fascist cop, Klan loving state in the Union. I'm surprised the judge didnt order the potter books burned.

I really have a hard time understanding the Harry Potter controversy. It's a harmless fairytale. http://www.forum.scullyspost.com/images/smilies/shrug.gif

Yes, but Harry Potter is only the tip of the iceberg. My little niece saw The Wizard of Oz when she was five, and ever since then she has been trying to "be like Glenda". Her room is drenched in bubble soap, plus she has an abnormal fear of monkeys.

No! Every thing written in any book is true.
