In Africa there are 130 US children currently under siege by revolutionaries. CNN posts an article warning US citizens not to travel there but mentions nothing about the school children.

To top it off, look at the global graphic they used. They put the warning triangle (http://www.cnn.com/2002/TRAVEL/09/23/warning.ivory.coast.reut/index.html) in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean! If a CNN viewer doesn't know where the Ivory Coast is, they will think it is in the middle of the ocean.

Political correctness is eliminating CNN as a viable, honest news service.

...unless they read the headline, which clearly states:

avoid travel to the West African nation of Ivory Coast

You moron, that's clearly a generic travel advisory graphic that's being used to notate the advisory, not the specifics of the schoolchildren.

And here's a thought, when there's a civil war or revolution raging in a country you're not a citizen of - get the **** out. I realize the missionaries think God will protect them, but come on, use your head for more than a hat rack.

Laf.

CNN created that generic graphic because they wanted to be politically correct and not put that icon over an African country. If this happened in Britain, CNN would have a flashing arrow or some other symbol directly over the top of the country. This is how the media demonstrates political correctness agendas. It is politically incorrect to say anything bad about Africa, a continent of human hell.

It is alright though. Today the US is sending 200 Special Forces troops there to go on Safari, I mean to rescue the kids :)

Religion has nothing to do with this.

The school that has been endangered by the uprising in Ivory Coast, the International Christian Academy , is a private boarding school established for the children of American missionaries.

If you look at their website (http://www.ica.ed.ci/Both/classalb.html), you'll see that despite being located in Africa it appears to have fewer black students than your average small-town public school in Iowa.

Apparently those Christian missionaries are willing to save the souls of African people but do not want their children associating with them.
