Wow.
I've seen bad web comics, but this (http://www.tccsa.tc/nuckols/monkeys_cuz.html) defies discription. If it's a spoof, I find it hard to believe that someone would put in this much effort into intentionally bad comedy.

I think it's real, therefore, I'm going to pretend that it's a spoof because that makes me feel better.

No, no, don't you get it? It's REALLY funny because someone is actually making fun of the fundamentalist viewpoint. Really, it's just a spoof, it's just a spoof...

I especially enjoy comic strips that end with punchlines like: "Hmmm... No wonder why Hitler slaughtered thousands of Jews and Polish people in an effort for the "Ideal race." He was an Evolutionist!"
They just never write em like that anymore!
(evolutionist? what's someone who believes in physics? A kelvinist?)

Prof is the high school science teacher of Wannabee High. He is an avid atheist, devout evolutionist and is a part of the A.C.L.U.(Anti Christ Liberal Union.) Prof is always upset and is easily angered when anyone mentions anything about God or creation. He loves reading philosophy. Some of his heroes include: Charles Darwin, John Dewey, Carl Marx, Thomas Paine, René Descartes and others.... Prof can quote the entire book Origin of Species by memory!
I can think of a reason why this person is so anti-intellectual. Can you?

No. It's not a parody. These are all real people, with a real agenda, referenced on other websites.
Sorry, guys.

Wow. He's got anti-intellectual fever. Apparently Pasteur (http://www.tccsa.tc/archives/cartoons/pasteur.html) is a target as well. Is this guy still sore spontaneous generation was shown false? Shows something of where he's currently at.
I think his greater sin is that he's not funny. At all. Humor impaired not-funny, no matter what his subject matter.

Noooooooooo!
It's like the other comic but badly drawn and with added strawmen.
And you can get a Jebus shaped free gift!
The only hope is that the copyright only goes to 2003.

I think I'll mentor my nine-year-old daughter into doing a paper with a decidedly Pastafarian flavour.
Unfortunately, my ex-wife has started bringing her and my son (six) to a church of the imaginary friend.
I'm doing my best to help them rationalize. I don't want to push any belief (or non-belief) on them, just give them a foundation of critical thinking an let them decide for themselves.
Hey, maybe we can flood them with Pastafarian Science papers?

Read the site's tripe on David Quammen. Then read this. (http://www.dartmouth.edu/~envs/events/quammen.shtml) They'll stoop to anything. Reminds one of some of the posters at JREF.

Do you have a link to their comments? I can't find them. The excerpts from his lecture are very interesting. Thanks for the link.

That's the guy that did the National Geographic article?! I have a new hero! His book will be mine at the end of this semester, and I will devour it like the lion on its cover devours its unsuspecting prey.

Interestingly, David Quammen trotted out tired old canards that even evolutionists have admitted should no longer be used as evidence for organic evolution. In his article, Mr. Quammen offered up as "proof" of evolution such things as: the so-called Eohippus to Equus horse evolution scenario (which evolutionists haven't used in several decades); embryonic recapitulation (including the idea that human embryos have gill slits--something scientists have known for more than 150 years to be false); Archaeopteryx as the alleged "missing link" between reptiles and birds (which, evolutionary paleontologists admit, is quite impossible, since a fossil of a true bird--Protoavis texensis--has been discovered that precedes Archaeopteryx by 75 million years, according to their timescales); and so on.
Let's play a game. Count the brazen errors in this quote.
I'll start:
David never mentions gill slits in his article. A complete fabrication.
http://magma.nationalgeographic.com/ngm/0411/feature1/fulltext.html
Horse evolution is damn near perfectly understood. Hyracotherium (a.k.a. Eohippus) is absolutely correctly stated to be an ancestor of the modern horse.
http://www.talkorigins.org/faqs/horses/horse_evol.html
Paleontologists do not agree by a long shot about Protoavis texenis.

While wander through the science section at my local Barnes and Noble I came upon a book that I believe was titled The Politically Incorrect Guide to Science. The blurb on the back touted the book as a counter to the liberal views of science. As a mostly conservative voter, I was more than a little offended by this bit of ignorance masquerading as science.

FROM SITE:
Suggested paper topic #8. How to winsomely discuss scientific creationism with humanistic evolutionists
Charm always carries more weight than facts. Irrefutable winsomness is a powerful scientific tool. I've been known to use it myself when I didn't know spit about a topic.

Complete fabrication? No! These are religious types; God-fearin', all-'murican', flag-awavin', girl-next-door-a-lustin'-in-their-hearts types. Can't be.
That reminds me: does anybody have a good source for the alleged quote from Martin Luther about a lie told in the name of God?

It makes one seriously consider Skinner's assertion about dumb-yet-happy.
