Seems to me that these dowsing rod-slinging vets want to initiate their own witch hunt. There isn't much difference between picking witches using odd habits and "floating on water" than using dowsing rods to pick out terrorists. Just another form of subjective profiling to weed out the supposedly unsavory by means that evoke some sort of pseudo-objective process.

P.S.: Yes, I realize that the Massachusetts witch trials did not really occur in Salem Town proper, but in the area of Salem Village now known as Danvers.
