I'D LIKE TO ADDRESS, John Locke's Treaties of Government, and what these millionaires and billionaires should 'owe' in taxes.
We do NOT live in a State of Nature anymore, where it is each for his own and only the strong survive. We LEFT that state to form government and civilization, knowing that together we can achieve more and be more secure working with each other instead of competing individuals.
It is this contract to services that we are ALL held to, and the sole fact that none of us could have acquired what we have today, without the cooperative efforts of their fellow civilians.
This is the principle, from where we should start when discussing taxation. Then ask the question, what do the people 'need' to insure their safety and survival? Calculate that number and wage a specific tax on all earnings, per year for each worker. Those making less than $10,000 per individual pay NO TAX. Those making over $100,000 pay 15%, over $1,000,000 a year- 25%, over $1,000,000,000- 50%, and those making over $1,000,000,000,000 a year...well screw you first of all, and secondly we are taking three fourths of your yearly income.
I hold that saying "No." to spending is a violation of someone's 'need' in our society, and that those who would do so, as an elected official should be held accountable to criminal charges and are thusly violators of our Civil Code.
