"Do you think Castro would grant sanctuary in Cuba to Saddam?"
This came up more or less out of thin air during a discussion and, after pondering it for some time, the best answer I could come up with is, "Derned if I know."
So, what do you think?

I doubt it. Castro is occupied with the bad press of his executing those ferry people and jailing disadents.

I don't see why he would, while they are both repressive dictators, Saddam never went in for communism. The only reason I could come up with would be to p_ss off the U.S.

Never really heard about it being a popular place to go into exile...( .. a place where one could expect to live in luxury, peace and anonymity..)
Doesn't seem like a likely choice..

Saddam himself? No, I doubt it since doing so would entail so much trouble.
However, I could see Castro taking in some of the lesser players in the deck of cards that is being passed about because that would really tick off US, cause a big fuss in the media, and make Castro look like a reasonable person, without actually risking too much trouble.
Ugh!
