/Quote/ This amateur footage is blurry, shakey, and frustratingly short, but it's recent and it's better than the Manitoba footage. /Quote/
Doesn't this sum up ALL supposed BF footage?

Obviously, it's a young female. Not quite to reproductive maturity, but close. You can tell by slouching head and the distinct gait.
edit to add: Oh yeah, and the coat color. The coat color is indicative of hormone level. (or lack there of).

"This figure is most likely a real sasquatch -- a survivor of the gigantopithecus line of apes."
My favorite quote of the article. Without any proof that one even exists they have classified it. It didn't look over 5 ft tall to me, it barely cleared the weeds.

That's because it's an immature female.
Gigantopithecus........yeah, yeah..that's it.

You're missing the point. They are claiming the figure is 7-8 feet tall and weighs over 1000 lbs. I'm often given to wonder how they arrive at such figures. Other than the weeds it passes no point of reference nor does it ever even stand upright so getting a height is pure, pure guessing at best, yet they state it as fact. Now, I'm 6'1 and weigh about 330 lbs and I look much fatter than that creature. I recently met a man who was 6'9" and was much skinnier than I was. He claimed he weighed under 300, but didn't want to get specific. Now, if that creature was even 8 feet tall, it looked skinny enough not to come close to 1000 lbs. Maybe not even 400 lbs. How on earth did they arrive at 1000? It must have lead in it's large feet. Then, for another reference, they show a DRAWING of a 9 foot tall creature and ask you to compare the arms to the one in the video. Yeah, that is real scientific.
This is a hoax, I'm sure the guys who made this are laughing at the redicules proportions BFRO or whoever assigned their faked creature.

I get the point exactly, which is why I'm mocking it. I'm joking. Sonoma State is close by. I'm sure it's a bunch of Tappa Megga Kegga's running around in the weeds!

Further research indicates that the adolescent female sasquatch in the brief movie likes long walks on the beach, moonlight swims, and campfire singalongs. She prefers the natural look and is very satisfied with her body. Her favorite color is tangerine, her favorite movie is "Clueless," and her ambition is to bring peace to the world.

On a serious note:
LAL, if you're reading this, this is why it's impossible to take BFRO seriously. Some badly-shot video, and they're confident enough to declare "we are confident the Sonoma footage is not fake (i.e. not animation or a man in a costume)."
This is not a sign of a scientific organization. This is a sign of a group that will swallow anything you hand them.

Cool. About 8 miles from my house. Not particularly wild country. Not particularly isolated country. Maybe 5 miles from a middling city (Healdsburg) and a major freeway (101); maybe 10 miles from another town (Windsor) and 15 miles from a large city (Santa Rosa).
I'll run out there this afternoon, I think I know the trail they claim to have been on. It would be nice if they were a little more specific about where they were.

Where's the rest of the video? They see a bigfoot (apparently out the corner of their eye while admiring the view that's ~90° to the right?), zoom in and lose focus completely, and then... what? Turn the camera off?

Well, I went out to Skaggs Spring Road this afternoon. No Bigfeets. Did see a bobcat and beaucoup turkeys, though.
Next time I'll bring a camera so I can document the turkeys. I think they may have been gigantoturkius greatbigicus. They were not ordinary turkeys.

Well, they're no ordinary turkeys. They're the most foul, cruel, and bad-tempered birds you ever set eyes on!
...
Look, those turkey's've got vicious streaks a mile wide! They're killers!

Have I mentioned that I am both a male and stout?

There is a long discussion about this over at BFF..

Lots of info with maps and maybe GPS info..
This pic should provide a pretty good reference point..

Oh, and for those that don't know..
The owner of BFRO leads paid Bigfoot search expeditions..
There seem to be convenient, reported sightings and other evidence in the areas where the expeditions will take place, weeks/months before they are scheduled..
There is also a rumor about this leader being caught with a monkey suit in the trunk of his car.. It seems there was a hurried explanation about it being for educational purposes

That does it. I've made crop circles. Now it's time to make bigfoot films. They look a lot simpler, and have the advantage of daylight. Next time I go hiking in the area with friends I'll have to bring a camera and a fursuit.
I was also never aware sasquatches migrated to Mendocino county. They must have a craving for the pot that's grown there.

I went over there this afternoon. I am going to take some screen shots with me when I go over tomorrow. This is hardly what anyone would call mountainous terrain - coastal hills really - and not at all rugged or isolated. If there is a large mammal of any kind in the area it will show up as roadkill eventually.

Just from watching the film clip. The "creature" seems more concerned with swinging its arms than walking.

My apologies - I read your post as if it said that the film was unrealistic, because 'the real' BF moves slowly, and this one walks too fast.

Hey LTC8K6, where ya' been..
Anyway, I'm just about finished with Long's book..
I don't know where to begin about his style of writing ( he can't write, actually ), and how poorly the book is edited, but it throws out a few tidbits that are worth looking into.
I't's hardly the conclusive proof he would like us to believe.. Mostly a lot of " he said, she said "... I don't have any reason to believe that any of the people he interviewed were less likely to lie than Patterson or anyone else..
Here is a little something I picked up on..
In the book, Bob H says, when he reached the end of his walk, he jumped into a hole that was made by the uprooting of a big tree..
Well, well, look what we see at the end of the film we are allowed to see..
http://www.intergate.com/~gregorygatz/images/last.gif
Of course, maybe the film really did run out, and Patty walked around the hole that the humongous fallen tree to her right, must have left..

Can you clarify what you are saying? I see a tree to the right, but it looks more like it broke rather than uprooted. It looks splintered. Having seen huge amounts of trees uprooted in high winds I can tell you they don't always leave a giant hole and they don't usually look splintered.
I've been looking for ways of debunking this film just like everyone else so I'm really curious as to what you are saying.
Actually, I'm also curious as to what that thing is above the C in the copyright notice.

I'll try to indicate which tree I'm talking about with another pic.. I don't think it's broke.. ( way too big ) ( I see the spintered tree I believe you are referring to )..
Above the c ?.. Just a stick I think.. I might be able to clarify in another frame.. There is a lot of stuff between the camera and the background.. Distances are real hard to nail down..

I think that's a film defect above the copyright c.

Okay, but what's the point with the tree? Are you saying Patty couldn't have walked there, that there is something wrong with her walking there? I'm still not following. You mention this is the end of the film or did you mean this is the last frame that shows Patty? I remember in another forum someone claims to have seen Patty go down on all fours at the end but I could never spot that.
The thing above the "c" just doesn't fit in with the rest of the picture, the color is off, it does look like a film defect now, like it split or something.

I'm just speculating about what we would see if the film ran beyond this point..
Supposedly Patterson ran out of film.. I find no compelling reason to believe he did..
Bob H. said he jumped into a hole left by a large uprooted tree just before he removed the costume.... Of course, Bob has seen the film, knows where it ends, saw the tree ... and could have made up that part of the story from there.. ( if he is lying about being in the costume. )
I was just making the observation that the tree fits his version of the story.. I never noticed the tree, or placed any significance on it, until I read about it in Long's book..
Starthinker
19th December 2005, 04:19 PM
Oh, I see, thanks. I didn't hear that version before. That may also, perhaps, fit in with someone thinking they saw the creature go down on all 4's just before the film ends.
