View Full Version : George W. Bush's Rise To Power

I have been thinking deeply of this recently. HITLER is similar to George W. Bush in more ways than one.
Examples:
Conquering smaller nations (Iraq)
Free Speech Rights Restricted (Patriot Act)
More Bills on the way to make more rights restricted
A Full Sweep of people in the same party in the Executive and Legislative Branches!
Extreme Nationalism, Patriotism, and Millitarism shown by what seems to be a majority of the USA.
Religious Inspirings/Teachings (aka Right Wing Christianity)
Racism is becoming more prevalent
Church and State are starting to unify
Lets face it, at this rate, our country is going to turn into a totalitarian state.

That is so goddamned profound... how can one argue with such ironclad logic? Your wisdom has left me in awed silence. I am humbled.

You need to think a little deeper then...
Could you please list and explain the fundamental similarities between the platform of President Bush's campaign and subsequent plan for the nation militarily, socially and economically, and that of Adolf Hitler. Then also please explain the correlations between the current Republican Party and the NSDAP (A.K.A. the National Socialist German Workers Party) of the 1930's and 40's.
No?
I thought not...

Both the Nazis and the Republicans had problems attracting the Jewish vote?

That's too deep for Chessmanskeptic. He's only 13 years old.

"Conquering smaller nations (Iraq)"
Comparing the blitzkrieg to the liberation of Iraq is an insult to those who died in the blitzkrieg. The only person who would make such a comparison is one totally ignorant of history.
"Free Speech Rights Restricted (Patriot Act)"
Weird, can't find that provision anywhere in the act.
"A Full Sweep of people in the same party in the Executive and Legislative Branches!"
Wow, Clinton was Hitler also for 2 years then.
"Extreme Nationalism, Patriotism, and Millitarism shown by what seems to be a majority of the USA."
Do you have any idea what extreme nationalism is?
"Racism is becoming more prevalent"
Negroes for the first time are practically in charge of the world's only superpower. If there is any racism, perhaps it is on the part of european friends who might be intimidated by Powell/Rice. Darnit, why couldnt Bush appoint useless token blacks like Clinton did!
"Church and State are starting to unify"
Look out chicken little, the sky is falling!
"Lets face it, at this rate, our country is going to turn into a totalitarian state."
PT Barnum was right.
Now look, im going to get heat for bringing up Clinton (you guys cant leave him alone, all you can do is compare to him@!, blah blah blah). So go ahead and do it. However, I have a list of comparisons that you may find striking. I will compare Hitler to the person who started this thread.
They both use fear, uncertainty, and doubt in lieu of a real arguement. Hitler would be proud of your tactics.

Extremism on the left or right is...well, extreme. The country has had conservatives in control of all three branches of the government before; liberals have been in control of all three branches, too. Conservatives and liberals alike would like to be in control of all three branches because each side knows what's good for us. I'm not exactly thrilled at some of the goings-on in Washington and I believe the situation bears watching closely; but I think it's a little soon to compare the current administration to Hitler and the boys.

I find that most Hitler comparisons in general come out of ingorance about the third reich.
Ever hear someone say "what is this, soviet russia?" and feel like replying "no, if it was soviet russia you would living in siberia or dead you twit".
People make offhand Stalin/Hitler references and I think these comparisons lessen the true horror of what those men did.

I don't know if this post was a joke or serious. But just think that GWB may be out of office is less than 21 months. I guess it depends on the state of the economy at the time of the election.

Ive compiled my own list of simularies between GWBush and Hitler.
Hitler ate hotdogs, so does bush.
Hitler wore pants, so does Bush.
Hitler had hair, so does Bush.
Hitler could talk, so can Bush.
Hitler rode in cars, so does Bush.
People liked Hitler, people today like Bush.
Hitler was the leader of a country, so is Bush.
So you see people, Hitler and Bush are exactly the same.

Chessmanskeptic is just a very young boy.
Way back when young boys, on Holloween, would fill a paper bag with dog poop, place it on the front stoop, light it on fire, ring the bell and run away.
CMS has the 'internet' to do this. And so does A_U_P.
See. It's all a joke.

Left out another similarity between Bush and Hitler. Very probably, penises. Now, I can't back this up with a link, so I'll be grateful to that resourceful person who does...

Just so we'll have something to work with, here's GWBs resume: George W. Bush's Resume (http://www.buzzflash.com/contributors/03/04/23_resume.html)
Doesn't really sound much like Hitler, does it?
Perhaps we can search for points of similarity, though I seem to recall something about there being dozens of points of similarity between Lincoln and Kennedy, which didn't amount to a hill of beans. :D

This is a trap that many people fall into. It's called, "The fallacy of proof by enumerating favorable instances." You list any of the similarities and coincidences that fit into your preconceived notion and ignore everything that doesn't. I heard it explained like this: Suppose that you want to prove that thirteen is an unlucky number. You select all the bad things that have happened to you when the number thirteen was involved--you fell down thirteen stairs when you broke your arm; the kid who ran you over witha bicycle was thirteen years old; there were thirteen people waiting for you when you were hit by a car with thirteen in its plate number. Look closely enough and you can find an association with the number thirteen in a lot of bad things that happen. But then, you must disregard any bad thing that is not associated with thirteen, as well as any good thing that was. Using this method, you can "prove" almost anything.
(The truth is, the number "13" is neither lucky nor unlucky. Nor is any other number except, of course 7, which everybody knows is a particularly lucky number.)

There are even more that have been overlooked:
- Hitler was a Mammal, so is Bush
- Hitler was able to convert oxygen to carbon dioxide during metabolism, so can Bush

According to enlightened left-wing European opinion:
- There's some controversy as to what kind of mammal Bush actually is.
-Bush is only able to convert oxygen to carbon dioxide by means of a cunningly hid listening device that plays the word "breathe" over and over again.
Keep in mind that these are the same people who brought us (or hold out the promise of) double digit unemployment, economic stagnation, and "Ace of Bass".

Yes, you are totally correct. When someone pulls a Hilter comparision out of their pocket during a debate, it usually makes them look like something of a desperate fool.
Sure, I'm not a big GWB fan, but he ain't no Hilter.
