I recently bought a game from target. Had problem with it. Found out this is a endimic problem. Tried to return it. Had to get a copy of the same game, same problem. Looked up state law, found out they are in the wrong. Still won't give me a refund. What should I do?

Contact the store manager, if that doesn't work, contact the regional manager. Contact teh better business bureau in your locality. When that fails search for a class action lawsuit for this. Otherwise, go to small claims court.

Thanks for the suggestions. But I already did all that. What I was actually thinking of doing was going back every day and exchanging the game until I burn through their entire stock. Then demanding a refrund.
ETA: spelling, been drinking. Believe it or not Target isn't part of BBB

I told the manager that they are in voilation(sp) of the law. Still wouldn't take my claim seriously said "store policy" Isn't that like the Nuremburg Defense?

I don't think the manager can do much to change policy in larger chains and quite often the reason stores won't refund games is due to copying worries (not pointing fingers). Calling up the Customer Service dept. will often yield better results
BTW, what was the game and what's the problem with it?

Yeah, that's a problem that's been getting worse recently with PC games. They don't want to take anything back becuase they assume everyone is pirating the software then returning it. I'd contact Customer service and explain that the software doesn't work on your machine, even though your machine meets the minimum requirements.
You should at least be able to get store credit. If not I'd make a stink about them being willing to permanently lose a good customer over $50.
I too am curious what game it is and what issue you're having. (Civ4?)

What game are you having issues with? This kind of thing has happened before, most notoriously with World of Warcraft and Temple of Elemental Evil. If it really is an issue with the game, then there will be other people screaming about it as well.
About 10% of the first wave of WoW games that hit shelves were defective. The defective ones all went to the same places so customers burnt through the entire stock returning them and the stores refused to stock anymore. There had been an issue with some of the CDs that were used in production. The system requirements they list are also BS, which contributes to the problem and makes people think the game is screwed up when it actually just won't run on their system. There are still portions of the game that boot people with ATI video cards.
ToEE was just one of the buggiest games ever released. (Thanks Atari, we love you too!) Wasn't playable for most people till the 2nd or 3rd patch.

Don't forget to check the website for patches, too. Many new games have an "auto update" button you can click on, too, to make it stupifyingly easy.
Two observations on problems I've had in the past:
1. Star Trek: Borg (a wonderful interactive live-action movie with John Delancie playing Q) couldn't even be installed -- you had to download a patch to start installing it! I assume it must have worked on some systems or it wouldn't have even gotten out the door.
2. Mechwarrior 2: Mercinaries was a wonderful game, and the best in the series before or since, but it was loaded with bugs they never got around to fixing. At one point in the game, I could go no further without it crashing, and that's when I gave up (~2/3 thru). No further patches were ever forthcoming.
