Lebanese nab terrorists headed for Gaza
The Lebanese army caught a boat on its way to Israel last week that was loaded with weapons, including long-range missiles, Channel 1 revealed Thursday night.
According to military sources who confirmed the report, the boat was on its way to Gaza from Lebanon and planned to drop off canisters filled with weapons, explosives and rockets off the coast where they were to be collected by Palestinian fishermen.
Government officials speculated that the boat was funded by Iran or Syria and that the weapons were meant to reach either the Hamas or the Islamic Jihad in the Gaza Strip.
Such a great idea, that withdrawal from Gaza. We'll have peace now for sure!

Uhm, yeah. I mean, all this evidence to the contrary can't mean anything, can it?

Uhm, yeah. I mean, all this evidence to the contrary can't mean anything, can it?Hamas, Islamic Jihad and the Al Aqsa Martys Brigades do not get their weapons and ammo from factories in Gaza or the West Bank. The weapons and ammo are smuggled in through tunnels, border crossings and on boats.
This ship once again proves that the resistance to the occupation "cover story" is wearing terribly thin these days. But rest assured the useful idiots will keep the resistance-to-the-occupation-scam alive, even in instances where for the first time in 38 years there is no occupation - such as in Gaza.

The qassems are indeed manufactured in Gaza, in local machine-shops.
Israeli Air Force attacks on these "workshops" have occurred from time to time.
In Lebanon, the term "long range missiles" refers to the soviet Katyusha, with a range of some 20km (12-14 miles) or even perhaps the FAHR-3 with a 45km trajectory. These would up the ante, if deployed in Gaza. Israel would be forced to extend the "no-goZONE" to encompass a much wider area, even to the extent of forcing the residents of Gaza to leave (evacuate), and causing an exodus of refugees, by sea, land (Rafah crossing) or by air (from Dehaniya).
That is certainly well within the capabilities and the doctrine of the IDF.
A missile attack by a Strella/GRAIL shoulder-launched anti-aircraft weapon against an Israeli airliner on approach to Ben Gurion would also be an unacceptable escalation that would have dire consequences for the Palestinian civilian population.
Both of these scenarios are being planned, apparently, by alQaeda (http://www.haaretz.com/hasen/spages/670167.html) and their associates, and the interception of this arms-ship just hints at this (it's the tip of the iceberg, so to speak).

There would probably have been attempts to bring the weapons in whatever. At a guess I'd say iran and hammas are the most likely combo.

There have always been attempts to bring in weapons. What's changed is the size of the weapons and the number that can be brought in, which have both grown much larger.

Size doesn't matter.
