I FREAKING HATE PAT ROBERTSON!!!!!
the only good thing is that he is so over the top he's making fundamentalism look BAD.
Not since Oral Roberts was going to be "called to heaven" if people didn't donate millions of dollars, has fundamentalism gone so wacky.
I'm expecting him to start handling snakes soon.
(and in my opinion that would be a good thing).

As an nontheist I don't hate him. It seems to me if you harbor such hatred then that would be considered very unchristian. I do think he is a couple beers short of a six pack. Oddly I find it difficult to hate anyone.

I believe Christ is generally understood as loving all of the merchants and moneychangers he threw out of the antechamber of the Temple. That didn't stop him from whaling on them like a housewife with a dirty carpet.
Oh, and kittynh, in regards to your signature: go frell yourself.
That is all.

Meh, I think he's just taking his brand of revalations worshipping christianity to it's logical conclusion.
Some people choose to focus on the inclusiveness in the bible, some choose to focus on the judgemental aspects of it.
The problem is, it is all in there, so people like pat robertson can continue to justify thier bigotry through the divine text so many fear.

I think kittynh's sig is supposed to be a subtle pun. I don't think you should be the one to criticize sigs. Your sig, "People who can't post intelligently should be suspended for a week. Over a vat of boiling oil," is terribly self-damning. I hope you aren't suffering from the heat of that vat. Or the rope burns.

Ah..Mr. Robertson, Jesus loves you more than you can know...oh whoah whoah whoah.
Oh please, Mr. Robertson, Jesus wants you to shut your mouth when you pray..hey hey hey hey hey hey.
Pat Robertson is proof of either
A) Jesus doesn't exist
B) Jesus has infinite patience.
If someone was using my name in such a way, I believe I would have something to say about it. If I were a god, I believe the rest of the world would get the point after seeing what happened to him.

I explained in another thread about how my grandmother would read me a Victorian poem about being "good for nothing". Other kids would get money for good grades and such, and my grandmother would explain how it was important to learn to do well and be good because in the long run (and short) it was good for ME.
When I got to know so many atheists I came to know that they are indeed good not for any reward or carrot, but simply because they are intelligent enough to figure out being good is the right thing to do. I"m sure there are bad nasty atheists out there too. I just happen to hang out with some really nice ones.
I'm sorry, but I really hate what Pat Robertson is doing. I wouldn't run him down in my car (well, maybe if no one was around....kidding). I certainly wouldn't wish anyone to have a stroke, or have some awful natural disaster happen to them. Even Pat Robertson. Though it would be interesting to see how he would explain it if it happened to him!
My sig is simply a tribute to my atheist friends and relatives. I'm good for nothing too! Being a good God fearing Xian so that you dont' get hit by a stroke or natural disaster may work for Pat Robertson, but not for me.
Sylvia Browne, her I'm just going to have to sin and hate her and any psychic that has faked talking to a dead child. I saw a film at one TAM and I've not overcome my revulsion for the psychic yet. The LOOK on the parents faces. Sylvia is headed to stroke territory with her bad health habits anyway. I'm not big into the good and evil thing, but certainly one of the most evil actions I've ever seen is the exploitation of people that have lost a child.

I haven't a clue. Unlike some people, I don't speak for God.
I'm going to have to start thinking things like as a child he had a rough time. Or he has some sort of inferiority complex that makes him CRAZY. Right...
I just have to think that maybe his saying such nutty stuff is going to show a lot of the world that he is well....nutty. And maybe you should take with a grain of salt (no a whole shaker of salt) much of what he says.
A reporter for the NYTimes once said to me, "I think Xians need skepticism more than anyone else."
He was doing an interview with a lot of skeptics and I had to clarify that I was not an atheist. I was very apologetic and offered to step out of the interview. He insisted I stay, but I did feel slightly off kilter as he assumed we were all atheists. I think it was a fair assumption on his part. I wasn't offended or anything. But it was also nice to still be included.

Yes, kitty means that atheists are good and don't need a reason (the for nothing part). I'm a Xian too and think that Pat Robertson is an embarassment to Christendom (along with some other mouthy preachers). Duct tape - 101 uses. :)

He's a human being who has religious beliefs and a big soap box. I think it goes without saying that one should take what he says with a grain of salt. However, it doesn't seem a lot of people do. Doesn't The 700 Club have a hefty sum of viewers? Ofcourse I'd imagine that at least some of them tune in for entertainment purposes only. I know I have a few times.

I'm pretty sure you mean "fundamental".
"Rudimentary" means something more like "primitive" or "undeveloped".
Or maybe this is Be Mean To Kittynh Week and no-one's told me.

Hi kitty, I would just like to point out a couple things we as Christians should consider...If you are seeking to make a difference we could rubuke Pat Roberson directly to point out where we think he is blowing it in his ministry and see if he repents and turns those things which appear to be not edifying the body. And we are to always to this in a loving manner. A wise man will accept reubuke and fool will probably not.
But second and most importantly...keep praying for others to have there hearts, lives, and ministries be right with God. Heaven help us all not to do God's job. He is the righteous judge...not us!
We as Christians can choose not to follow those teachers that appear to have problems with the doctrine they teach...right?
And as far as Sylvia Browne is concerned..does anyone know if she has an e-mail address? I personally would like to send her my testimonty on my web site

Actually, i consider Pat Roberson as being much closer to Lucifer by now, than to Gunderscored. Give him another 10 years, and he will be there. Trully enlightened at that point.
But second and most importantly...keep praying for others to have there hearts, lives, and ministries be right with God. Heaven help us all not to do God's job. He is the righteous judge...not us!
How can he be a righteous judge if he denies us the truth?
No, Satan gives the truth, and Satan is a worthy judge, because he deals with the Truth.
We as Christians can choose not to follow those teachers that appear to have problems with the doctrine they teach...right?
Indeed, Just as my fellow satanists can choose not to follow the teachers that appear to have problems with the doctrine they teach(namely, being too christian).

Funny, because according to the bible she should be stoned.. oh well..
It is clear to see that Sylvia Browne have NOT seen the light, had she seen the light she would know the Truth, and wouldn't have so many problems with her performances.

Sylvia doesn't do e-mail. She's too afraid Randi might try to write her.
I recommend you pray to some of your dead relatives and ask them to try to get her attention. Pray for them to reveal to her your web site.
