So, heres me trying to persuade the Missus (aka She Who Must Be Obeyed Or You Will Sleep On The Couch) that its worthwhile spending £600 on a new computer for me to play games on.
On thing is, the only game she likes is a PS2 Karaoke game. In this game you have to sing a long and get points for holding and hitting notes for the correct time etc... Its complete bollocks of course, I can win every time by just humming instead of actually singing.
So she says "why not buy a PS2?"
Good news? you may say. What red-blooded male wouldnt want a PS2?!
Well, problem is, the PS2 needs to connect to the TV. And She always wants to watch The OC or other such mindless drivel on the TV. This is fine because I can surf or play games on the PC. But now, if we get a PS2 instead of a new PC...... I wont be able to play any game except bloody stuffing karaoke!!
So to head this off, I urgently need to know if there is a karaoke game available for the PC.

You could get a box to convert the phono outputs of the PS2 into VGA outputs so you could use a PC monitor for the PS2...

Have you tried your local paper and certain gaming stores for a Pre-Owned console?
The alternative is to get your PC, but at a slightly lower spec, and the PS2 then you can upgrade for yourself later :) (I'm presuming you're self building here)

errr, Jon, this is a very sensitive question. I am sure that everyone is thinking it and no one has the guts to actually ask. Ummmm ...
err....
Uh, Jon? Do you, you know, um, partake, is that a good word? Partake in this particular form of errr "entertainment"?
Let me hasten to add that there is nothing wrong with that and we, all of us writing here and the thousands reading this will not really think less of you.
and, ummm, if you do, do you have any pictures?:p

I don't know about karaoke games, but I know of two very good karaoke websites. One is British, http://www.singtotheworld.com, and the other is American http://www.ksolo.com. The British site has better songs and the recordings are of better quality. The American site, though, allows you to actually record yourself singing, and inflict it on other people who visit the website, who can then rate you.
(I spent hours and hours on both, and actually paid money to subscribe to one of them one month. I love karaoke).

I just got one mainly for travelling, but I'm thinking of using it around the house instead of hooking the PS2 up to a TV. I just received it so I haven't used it much yet so I can't tell you if it's really worth it or not. It's gotten good reviews, tho.
Note that it's for the "new" slim PS2.
I also got a "Naki G-PAK Console Organizer and Travel Case" to keep everything in.

Why not buy a PSP? Then you can sit in the corner having a great time and your lady will sit watching The OC or whatever but secretly be jealous of your cool and sexy little machine.

I note that Jon has not responded to this question and that he has vanished. This is why I am not in favor of "Outing".

According to IGN and Gamespy, you're out of luck on the PC Karaoke.

Well, the PC version of American Idol is basically a karaoke game. But then you get the added bonus of Simon chewing you out afterwards.
