January 17th was the 300th anniversary of the birth of Benjamin Franklin, one of my very favorite dead people. Ben and I would have gotten along famously, but I planned my birth poorly.

While Ben would have been a fascinating dude to have dinner with, I think I "planned" my birth well. Without modern medicine my second son would be dead by now from kidney failure. Not to mention, I like indoor plumbing.

Without antibiotics it is very unlikely I'd have survived past the age of two and because of appendicitis past my 16th...

So although he was fascinating bloke I'm glad I wasn't born 300 years ago.

Ever since I was born, I've wanted to be nothing.

Talk about cruelty...

You can add my spouse and I to the list of people who are glad to be around in the age of modern medicine. To date, our kids haven't had that experience, I'm happy about that.

I think I planned my birth well. It will take place in the year 2143.

I wish I could be there to see it, but I've already planned my death for November of 2137. (I'm being torn to pieces by a pack of feral hamsters.)

LOL

What will be left of the world after Armageddon, which is supposed to happen *any day now*??

Bring marshmallows and hot dogs, so we can roast 'em in the pits of eternal hell. :-)

That is by far and away the most involved smiley I have ever seen.

Ooooh, fan-cie! All I could afford was drowning. But I'm saving up for a molecular de-cohesion.
