I worked it out kind of by accident, but has anyone else have any idea how it works?

None of the six cards in the first group appear in the second group. Doesn't matter which card you picked.

Spot on!
Also you notice just to fool people a little more this Le Woogine stuck to the numbers 6,7 and 8 all the way. Just used different colors in the second group.
The only one that was really missing was the 8 of spades.
I could not picked that one anyway

Same principle as the internet card trick that was wowing people not too long ago.

Same principle as the internet card trick that was wowing people not too long ago.I remember it wowing people about ten years ago.
