found this searching for The Ten Commandments to refresh my memory.
I had read and heard these sorts of claims before when I was investigating faith via Christian Fundamentalism.
The best way to understand the nature of atheism is to understand its author. satan is its author.
ATHEISTS, AGNOSTICS AND NON BELIEVERS ARE THE TRUE CRIMINALS OF THE WORLD COMMUNITY
My experience is that in my little world these claims were abundent. Satan is everywhere, he has many ways to seduce, and his message is perpetuated by teachers, those in authority and in positions of influence, and of course scientists, atheists, agnostics, and non-believers. To the Christians I was surrounded by, these afore mentioned people were Satanists but were cleverly disguising their wayward messages or were too blind to see they were being manipulated by Satan.

Why should we trust the true Christians? That's how I'd disguise myself if I were Satan. Disguising himself as an atheist is way too obvious.

Plus, if you can disguise yourself as a fundie, you can get people to do all kinds of evil things for you, like murder homosexuals and lynch Muslims.

Frightful!
But it gives some consolation to notice that, if this muddleheaded believer in the Lord (named Robert T. Lee) should be right with his belives, he will dwell in hell, for the Lord spake:
"You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor,"
But what other is he doing repeatedly throughout his whole, in want for a better word, article, calling me a Satanist? :D

Which particular commandment would that be referring to? Or does it really matter?

I saw something interesting on the History Channel around Easter time about Angels. In Jewish folklore, Satan is an angel that is like a prosecuting attorney "Look at that guy Lot, he only loves God because he has it good." He isn't Evil, just an angel that tries to point out the fallacies of man to God. Much different than the xian version of Satan as the mustach twirling, evil for evil's sake fallen angel.

Hey! If we're working for Satan, isn't he supposed to be paying for the health and unemployment insurance. ANd I wanna know when was the last time OSHA came by to inspect for compliance. THis guy is violating all sorts of state safety laws. I think we need to unionize, take back some of the power management has.

I thought Satan wanted people to be aggressive toward one another.

I remember that once we had a thread going on here about obnoxious church signs. Well, I saw one today;
"Accountability"
It's when you invite an atheist to dinner, and count the silverware after.
What a bunch of creeps those southern Baptists are!

Yeah, but at the same time they give God a reputation for being a psychotic bastard. You'd think Jack Chi- I mean Lucifer, would be thrilled about that. Pointless rant agains Christianity time:
I think that if Satan really did exist, he'd consider Christianity his proudest achievement. As Muscleman said, "SATAN IS THE MASTER OF LIES AN CONFUSION SO WORSHP CHRIST OR GO TO HELL!!!!"
Think about it. Entire organizations of people tricked into foolish biggotry because they believe that people go to Hell for not being Christian the way they are. The fact that morality works is used to justify anything associated with teaching it. And, best of all, it's been changed from something objective into rule-following, and the rules undergo so much interpretation that the end result might as well be a lie. Not that interpretation is a bad thing, but the fact that interpretation is being treated as absolute truth which it is not, is what's bad. You've got people who sincerely believe that the only way to be moral is to be a Christian and follow all their rules. You've got sects and branches of the same religion fighting each other over arguments started thousands of years ago about interpretation, doing terrible things and washing their hands of the situation instead of taking responsibility. If that's not confusion, I don't know what is.
And look at some of the intellectual output that comes from Christianity- solipsism, and the denial of reality itself. Talk about the master of lies and confusion, this is Ian and UCE territory. And everywhere you have a confusion of terminology. What constitutes being lied to for someone who thinks reality is lie? Things like truth, and reason.
And what do you think the Devil does with all these followers, who have been lied and tricked into thinking they're on God's side? He sends them all to Hell as fast as he can! Everything from excommunication, inquistions, crusades, to a bunch of fundie Chick tracts that loudly proclaim "God hates fags!" And each time they commit such injustice, they're disowned by the next people, who do something else bad. The Devil's a genius, he's set up a religion that condemns everybody else to Hell, and it's so full of routines and extremely loose interpretation even its followers can't avoid Hell unless they're praying 'til it hurts, even though you can get away with murder following all the rules to the most exacting degree! Christianity becomes so convoluted it means selling your soul for a carrot on a stick you cannot be sure you're going to get. You can't just buy the product, you have to sell it to others, like a pyramid scam. Conscience and the consideration of others become a selfish matter of earning the biggest frikkin' carrot.
If Jesus came back and saw the mess the Christians made, nobody would recognize him, and he wouldn't understand the Christians were worshipping him.

Good post, c4ts. Very well said. I especially like the part about not just buying it, but having to sell it in a great big pyramid scheme.

A basic problem with the website is that atheist and unbelievers are defined as people who reject the manifest truth of God's existence. Once this misconception is firmly established as Truth, the rest is merely a house of cards.
How can you argue with someone who defines you as being influenced by an invisible, supernatural creature? :D
To be in their face, these beliefs were aptly described by Karl Popper back in 1963. There has not really been much of an answer yet to his basic accusation:
"...this false epistemology, however, has also led to disastrous consequences. The theory that truth is manifest -- that it is there for everyone to see, if only he wants to see it -- this theory is the basis of almost every kind of fanaticism. For only the most depraved wickedness can refuse to see the manifest truth; and only those who have every reason to fear truth can deny it, and conspire to suppress it.
Yet the theory that truth is manifest not only breeds fanatics--men possessed by the conviction that all those who do not see the manifest truth must be possessed by the devil--but it may also lead, through perhaps less directly than does a pessimistic epistemology, to authoritarianism. This is so, simply, because truth is not manifest, as a rule. The allegedly manifest truth is therefore in constant need, not only of interpretation and affirmation, but also of re-interpretation and re-affirmation. An authority is required to pronounce upon, and lay down, almost day to day, what is to be the manifest truth...
