AMES RANDI EXPOSES URI GELLER CD
THE AMAZING JAMES RANDI ON URI GELLER AND ON SEALED ENVELOPE READING UNDER IMPOSSIBLE CONDITIONS
This recording was our biggest selling MagiCD - a great listening pleasure.
On this MagiCD James Randi exposes some of Uri Geller's most treasured secrets including Sealed Envelope Reading stunts under test conditions at a TV studio. This CD is full of general magic advice and James Randi draws on his extensive experience in the world of mentalism, escapology and illusion to provide fascinating material that is still exciting even though twenty years have passed since it was first recorded.

I can tell you that if you order it from a UK address it arrives very promptly and consists of 12 audio tracks, each between 3 and 6 minutes long. I'll listen to it tomorrow and give you a rundown of the audio content.

I wonder if it is an illegal sale of copyrighted material. Perhaps the JREF should look into that. If it's a legit copy originally sold or distributed by the JREF then all's fine. I would be worried about piracy of intellectual property though.

If the JREF has problems with the copyright, they can follow it up by using the web address found on the CD cover: www.abracadabra.co.uk.

Indeed, after looking through their site I am fairly confident they have probably worked out royalties with the JREF.

The audio files make up 2 different 1/2 hour monologues by Randi. The first was recorded just over a year after Randi's book on Geller was published and in it Randi explains his objections to Geller's claims, how Geller's accomplishments may have been aided by his companions (!) and a detailed account of how he fooled a TV presenter with the sealed envelope reading trick - an act which Geller claims/claimed to demonstrate by psychic powers.
The second was made when Randi was nearing 50 and focuses on his magic act (including a near-fatal non-escape in Canada), being a magician and famous magicians he has known.
I can't see any copyright issues - in both recordings Randi thanks Martin (Breese, I'm assuming - the bloke who sells this CD) and is aware it's a recording that'll be made available to a wider audience.
