Oh my what a load of claptrap.
I'm getting a headache, and it's not just from repeatedly banging my head against the wall when ever Gary Schwarz (sp?) opens his mouth and lets the tripe flow out.
But I will be brave and suffer through this ordeal.
I mean I knew the 'documentary' would be like this.
*wibble*
Oh no! Gary Schwarz and 'quantum theory' claptrap again AHRGH.
(wrote this while I was watching, hence the *wibble* incidents)

Is it me, or is Discovery Channel (on Sirius satellite radio) bogged down by woo garbage like alternative medicines, etc. It's also the channel with the most ads...

Ugh, if it's the same show as I caught on LIME Network... *shudder*

Well after watching the entire program I can conclude that 'believers' of woo woo would see evidence for faith healing and skeptics will remain skeptics.
The scientists in the program were all pseudo-dudes.
The Narrator took a semi-skeptic viewpoint.
*sigh*
A woman with cancer went back to chemotherapy after the visit to John and it seemed as if the chemo was working. Who did she thank? The oncologist? Nope it was the "invisible surgery" performed by John that "cured" her cancer.
*sigh*
A guy with a leaking ventricle (sp?) that needed open heart surgery to work properly. He said that John had healed him. His cardiologist said: Nope.
So he went back to john for a second session. The cardiologists verdict as he returned: "the ventricle is still leaking, no change".
And the Guy STILL thought John could heal him.
Yeah I know I shouldn't be suprised, and I am not.
But I am angry.

This was not the same program as the ABC program discussed in this forum a while ago. At least that one had a few out-of-context quotes from Mr. Randi. This was almost total woo, complete with QM-references triggering my gag reflex. The "skeptic" voices were a priest and a few doctors who were open to more than what "western medicine" had to offer.
Where's the puking smiley when you need it?

For me they triggered my head-desk instincts.
Just thinking about the program makes my head ache, I'm going to need a few aspirins when I get home from work.

A TV show? Bah! We get the real deal in April.

And yes the media have been provided with links to Randi's special commentary.

I shall repeat the same as the date aproaches. I must have a bit of a Fred Phelps gene giving me the urge to stand outside and shout stuff.
(no not really gonna do it)

Annoyance I caught this morning on Discover Magazine: Talking about a helicopter spraying wetlands for mosquitos: "Doesn't use chemicals" and goes on to describe how the bacterial toxin being sprayed works.
