What is the top result when you search for James Randi at amazon.co.uk?

How ironic. (http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/0521507820/qid=1141819550/sr=8-1/ref=sr_8_xs_ap_i1_xgl/026-5201015-6670863)

Next time someone asks me for a definition of irony, I'll tell them to do just that.

Why isn't the text under the heading "Synopsis" further down that page a synopsis of the content of that book? It seems to be more of a description of the physical characteristics of the book. Is it so hard to just condense the main plot to a few sentences?

A gripping tale of one deity's journey to personal and spiritual maturity. In part one, he likes animal sacrifice, ritual mutilation, genocide, polygamy, concubinage, keeping Saturday holy, abstention from lobsters ... in part two he prefers forgiveness, love, monogamy, Sundays and lobsters.

Like every time I tried to find a DVD of a performance of the oratorio Elijah, all the damn system would give me was about a squillion different versions of LotR....

Sound to me as if there's some sort of trick ending in which it is revealed that there are actually two deities, but they are identical twins separated from birth, or something.

It's even better. Turns out there's really three, but they're like, al lthe same one. Multiple personalities or Siamese twins, they never really spell out though.

Oh. That's almost a bit too spooky for my taste.

Don't get me wrong - people who go in for all that ritual mutilation, concubinage, siamese twins, and lobster thing are, biologically, just as human as you and me, but... well... Had I had kids, I wouldn't care to send my offspring over to their house to play.

Surely there has to be another one to complete the trilogy.

I know it has quite a clear ending, but if it worked for Dallas...
