(JK would love this story)

The University of Massachusetts is considering changing its team nickname from the Minutemen to the Grey Wolves partly because its a gender neutral name.

I think its silly. First of all Minutemen is a great name for UMass considering the history of the state. I dont even think there are any grey wolves left in the region!

Even when schools have gender specific names they usually throw in the "Lady" prefix for the womens teams. LadyVols, Lady Tigers, etc... No one ever seems to complian about that.

Umass Minutepersons doesnt have a ring to it.

Well there are those Revolution re enactments. When you think of Mass does an image of a grey wolf come to mind?

Howz about the UMass Kennedys? the Tax-spenders? The Big Dig Money Pits?

Switching from the Minutemen to the Minute Maids may ruffle some male feathers, but could be financially lucrative :)

No sweat. Grey Wolves works for me. A female canine is called a bitch.
So where's the problem?
