Methinks alot of the country is still racist. Now put together Liberman wh Hillary Clinton and you have a Jewish guy with opinionated (aka "bitchy") women. Oi vey they wouldnt have a chance.

I'd hate for Lieberman to run -- not because he is a jew, but because he is a DINO.

Kerry or Clinton for president!..

Lieberman would never run with Hillary. Not gonna happen. If you notice, Lieberman ran for vice president during the 2000 campaign and he the _only_ candidate of Bush/Gore/Cheney/Lieb to not get a decent amount of bad press.

The majority of the democratic voter base and the swing voters simply don't give a rats ass about him being a Jew. Even black voters who get fed anti-semitism will still vote democrat.

iduno, I used to think Kerry was the ringer. Lately though I've been getting a bad vibe from him. I feel like he will be the first french president of the united states. Wishy washy and indecisive on foreign policy and a hack socialist to boot.

He seemed a lot better before he started campaigning.

On the Dem debate:Democrats spar in primary debate (http://www.boston.com/dailyglobe2/125/nation/Democrats_spar_in_primary_debate+.shtml)

WASHINGTON - Divisions among Democrats on display during the first presidential primary debate Saturday night delighted Republicans, who hope the party's internal squabbles on national security, health care, and taxes will hobble its nominee and bolster President Bush's chances for reelection.

''We need more Democratic debates,'' Senator Lindsay Graham, Republican of South Carolina, said yesterday on ABC's ''This Week.'' ''I believe they should debate every week between now and the election.''

Indeed, the nine Democratic candidates for their party's nomination couldn't keep from attacking one another during the debate, held nine months before South Carolina's crucial primary. On GW's vulnerability:ABCNEWS/ Washington Post poll (http://abcnews.go.com/sections/politics/US/poll030503_election.html)

As a result, in a head-to-head matchup testing Bush against a generic "Democratic nominee for president," Bush leads by 53 percent to 40 percent, with some striking differences among subgroups. It's almost a dead heat among women, and on both coasts. Bush loses nonwhites by nearly 2-1, and blacks specifically by 8-1. He trails in the nation's cities and among the poorest Americans. And he has huge leads in his core groups — among them, Republicans, conservatives and evangelical white Protestants.
...

The differences by views of the economy, and Bush's empathy, are huge. Among people who think most Americans are worse off, Bush trails by 61 percent to 30 percent. Among whose who think he doesn't understand "the problems of people like you," he lags by 74 percent to 17 percent. And it's a similar margin among those who say the economy's in poor shape. On Lieberman's chances, from the same poll:Lieberman has 29 percent support among Democrats and independents who lean toward the Democratic Party — numerically his best in any national media-sponsored poll this year. Gephardt has 19 percent support, among his highest; Kerry, 14 percent. All six other candidates follow with support in the single digits.

Wesley Clark.

He has charisma, military know-how, he's smart, and he's a Democrat.

O dont think the black antisemitism is as strong as you think. Theyd vote for Liberman. How do you think Liberman will do in the south. Do you think he can win over mid of the road republicans.

Who would he run with. I'd have to be someone out of the south or west. Who fits that bill.

Or maybe Powell will come out of the closet and run as a Democrat.

"Wesley Clark. "

I've heard his name mentioned before. I suspect we will be "at war" at least though the '04 election. Between now and then we will be seeing not so subtle suggestions how repubs=patriotic/strong/Real American's and dems=unpatriotic/wimpy/blame America first'ers and it will energize the repub constituency. Bush Jr. won't make the same mistake as dad, namely he will keep the war in the news until election.

Having said that, Clark might be the only choice to counter that strategy.

I think the thing these democrats need to do is start making it clear who their cabinet choices will be. Bush was not the republican dream candidate but when you added Cheney/Powell/Rice and other capable people to the team, all of a sudden you had a good ticket.

Trust me on this, the executive branch is no longer just about the president; I think people are starting to look more at the whole executive team.

"Jed Bartlett" would steamroll anyone in an election.

Howard Dean / Wesley Clark. Two guys and four first names...

Wesley Clark may have shot himself in the foot with his doom and gloom analysis during the war. I get the feeling he had egg on his face when it was over.

The only Democratic candidate that seems to get people excited is Howard Dean. He seems to have the juice now and he gives good moving speeches.

However,
I don't think anyone will beat Bush in '04 though.

Let's say *if* a democratic president gets elected in the next go 'round. (And that's a pretty big IF, since the democratic party has seen to shoot itself in both feet this year). Please God, don't let it be Gray Davis, California's current governor.
