Following the first Sunday service after April 27's arsenic poisoning of the congregation's coffee, church members and other residents of the potato-farming community in far northern Maine are hoping to return to a semblance of normalcy.
But with satellite trucks from CNN, NBC, Fox and countless other media organizations still swarming this town of 650 -- and Maine State Police's announcement Monday that more than one person may have been involved in the poisonings -- residents are buzzing with gossip and growing tired of the unwanted spotlight.
"We've had enough for one week, thank you," was all resident Fred Ringdahl would say before hanging up his phone. Several other residents and businesses either did not return requests for interviews or had their phones taken out of service.
