The fact that these producers and psychics hadn't even been granted permission by John Lennon's estate to do this is very disheartening, and as a result, family and friends should have every reason to be upset.
On a positive note, reading this article has suddenly inspired me to add an interesting twist to my last will and testatment. In light of this despicable situation, I am going to add a "speaking with a psychic" ammendment which can only grant any and everyone (even my closest friends and family members) access to a consultation with a medium, through which I can "communicate" after I die, CONTINGENT upon satisfactory completion of the following requirements:
(1).
First and foremost, in a "cold reading" situation, the psychic in question would have to get my ENTIRE name spelling correct, not just the first one or two letters. ALL first, middle and last names, in their entirety, PLUS my correct date of birth. Simply stating my zodiac sign is not acceptable.
If it is determined that the psychic in question has already had prior knowledge of my name and date of birth (i.e., through a friend of a friend, internet searches, or any other obvious sources such as school records, yearbooks, DMV records, public records, etc.) the psychic would then be immediately disqualified from speaking to anyone and everyone who wishes to communicate with my departed spirit, indefinitely. Violation of this simple rule would warrant legal action on behalf of my estate, proceeds of which go to a charity of my choice, less applicable legal fees.
Once he or she gets this part right, the psychic would then have to meet the requirements of part 2 below...

A large manilla envelope will contain at least 10 miscellaneous items inside, all bearing my signature in handwritten ink. This will guarantee authenticity that no one else could possibly add anything else to the envelope's contents.
Contents of this envelope would be known ONLY to me, and no other record of its contents would be shared or stored with anyone or anywhere else, by any means. The envelope would be sealed, and bear a dated postmark or notorized and dated by a notary public. The envelope would then be stored in a highly secure, state of the art safe deposit box, to be guarded and maintained by the heirs of my estate. Only one person would be trusted with the key to the box, and this indvidual would be the contact person for all mediums who wish to communicate with my departed spirit.
To ensure the integrity and security of the safe deposit box, an independent, third party legal consultant would oversee the box's activities via 24 hour video monitoring, and requirements of photo ID and signatures of anyone to gain access.
Just to be thorough and fair, there will be not just one, but FOUR sealed and dated envelopes inside the safe deposit box, numbered 1 through 4 respectively. This will be done simply to allow the same opportunity for other, future mediums to communicate with my departed spirit. The first medium would have to describe (in FULL vivid detail) every single item in evelope #1; the second medium would have to describe (again, in FULL vivid detail) every single item in envelope #2, and so on.
Each medium shall have only ONE opportunity to describe the contents of only ONE envelope. The first medium is to describe the contents of envelope #1, and ONLY evelope #1, and so forth. To guarantee that no envelopes are tampered with by the medium in question, there will be NO physical contact made with their envelope whatsoever. If it is determined that they psychic in question had tampered with the envelope, severe legal action will be asked to be taken on behalf of my estate, proceeds of which go to a charity of my choice, less applicable legal fees.
No other opportunities for describing the contents of any other envelope will be allowed should the medium fail in his or her description of his or her given envelope. These mediums would also be disqualified from speaking to anyone and everyone who wishes to communicate with my departed spirit, indefinitely. Should the given evelope bear evidence of any tampering (that is NOT the result of the psychic's actions) the psychic may be allowed to describe the contents of the next evelope. Should ALL envelopes be tampered with, the test becomes null and void, and no solid evidence of communication with the dead can ever be established. These mediums would be disqualified from speaking to anyone and everyone who wishes to communicate with my departed spirit, indefinitely.
Only items bearing my genuine, handwritten signature from the envelope are to be described by the psychic.

The trusted heir to my estate would ask the psychic in question to write whatever he or she thinks the contents are down on a sheet of paper. Date it, sign it, seal it, and have it notorized by a notary public. A genuine, recorded video document shall detail and record the fullfillment of these requirements on the medium's part.
My independent third party legal consultant would oversee this process by instituting a live, video broadcast of this entire event unfold. The medium in question would be asked to sit in a room outside of the safe deposit box. The signed, sealed and dated envelope of what the medium thinks will be in MY manilla envelope would then be opened and verified by a trusted heir of my estate, in addition to my independent third party legal consultant, in the presence of the medium in front of a live camera recording this event. The medium in question would HAVE TO AGREE with everything verified, otherwise, the test would become null and void, and the medium will be held responsible for all expenses incurred for this procedure. Should the medium decide to suddenly back out at this moment, the test would also become null and void, and the medium will be held responsible for all expenses incurred for this procedure. The medium would then be immediately disqualified from speaking to anyone and everyone who wishes to communicate with my departed spirit, indefinitely.
The medium in question may be allowed to bring in a photocopy of their responses to this meeting.
The trusted heir of my estate would then go into the safe deposit box (with a live camera following just behind him or her, just for safekeeping purposes) and bring out the respective envelope for the medium in question. He or she would hand it over to my independent third part consultant, who would verify that the envelope had not been tampered with in any way, and genuinely signed, sealed and dated. Slowly, he or she would open it up and reveal its contents. EVERY SINGLE ITEM must match conclusively with the medium's written response in order to allow any further contact with my friends or family members who wish to communicate with me beyond the grave. That way, I'd ensure my friends and family members are indeed dealing with the REAL thing, and not some phony scam artist's scheme. If the psychic can't do that, then he or she is not allowed any further contact with my friends or family member indefinitely.
It's really that simple.
