Yep, it's coming up on election time, and they think they're way behind again, so it's time to put up the old smokescreen...

Yanno, none of those posts had anything whatsoever to do with Democrats or Republicans or liberals or conservatives or anything like that. The only common theme is, well, you. So what are you running for, jj?

Good point, it is, after all, the present kind of "logic" we see in this climate.

Well I could reply to that, but somehow I doubt that it's global warming that is making the administration apologists so upset.

A smokescreen is either a precursor to an offensive or a means of confusing an offensive. In either case it's a short-term expedient. This is not the time. This is Springtime, and November is far off.

It continues: http://forums.randi.org/showpost.php?p=1542266&postcount=95

And so on.

Lies, deliberate provocation, stalking, ...

Duno, there, dodger, they start about the same time last election.

As much as I'd like to agree with you, jj it all seems like the usual rant and rave comingled with a demonization or two.

I think they'll all really start spinning toward late summer. I've heard the anticipated ratio is approximately 26:1 which means they'll all be aging at an accelerated rate. God knows their excuses have gotten old. ;)

A bonfire of straw men, burning brightly.jj, I think you're a little out of control here - you're starting to splatter everybody with the same brush.

Unless I'm very mistaken, Renfield has been pretty much on the opposite side of every position I've ever taken in the politics forum. So is he spinning the Repug neocon line, too?

You going to add Mephisto and Cleon to your enemies list next?

I notice you didn't mention AUP...

I don't get along with extremists, you know. I extremely dislike them.

Heh, I could make the thread self-referential at this point, but why bother? :[

Sorry, jj, can you point me to where the forum rules prohibit political discussion in the poitics forum during an election year?

And when you're done with that, could you explain just what the hell your problem is? You see like a passive-aggressive bipolar med-dodger. You spare no expense in argumentively asserting that you hate people who are argumentative. On the internet.

And who put the hornet's nest up the bashers' collective rectum? Hormones in the beef? The price of oil? The slow spread of Al Gore's bald spot? What?

Its the great offyear-elections-most-people-dont-even-realize-are-happening conspiracy. You caught us JJ. I'll sell you a tinfoil hat that will block out our messages.

Seems like, with the arrival of corplinx and jocko, this thread is now fully self-referential.

Let's see, corplinx has brought in a "conspiracy theory", so I guess that makes him a conspiracy theorist. Does he think we never went to the moon, too?

As to Jocko, well, beyond the straw men, amateur-psychologist-blithering, and ?his? usual demonstration of a total lack of understanding of civil behavior, well, did I miss anything?

Thanks.

Why are you stalking jj? Responding to another users questions or claims on a public message board is deeply disturbing behavior. How do you think a restraining order will look on your permanent record?

Oh forget it, my name starts with a J so I'm probably not even on jj's top 10 "stalker" list... particularly lately, what with so many new persecutors in his life.

Then again, maybe he's lightening up a bit. It is rather entertaining to see him and Tony stroking each other, in a Brokeback-esque sort of way. It's nice to see the tender side of the psycho.

Whereas I feel a certain pride in my long-term standing on his top ten.

It's a disconcerting kind of pride -- given that it doesn't take much to get and stay there -- but I'll take it. Not as good as the good ol' days where one poster could start a thread specifically calling out another party though.

You keep using that word. I donna think it means what you think it means.

Actually, jj, what this thread is, is misplaced. You should keep your flames in the flame forum, IMHO, particularly when your OP is devoted to other personalities on this board instead of politics, current events or social issues.

BTW, the term you're fishing for is "reflexive."
