I've managed to put my 132 favorite Amaz!ng Meeting pictures on the Web along with captions.

I'm working on a narrative to go with all of these, but I'll start with the pictures (http://members.cox.net/electric_monk/TAM2003/index.shtml) for now.

The was great, E-Monk. Although, before Bidlack does something painful to you, I should inform you that he is in the AIR FORCE, not the Navy.

And I'm glad I'm not the only one to see Bidlack's resemblence to Drew Carey. Especially from the side.

I particularly enjoyed the 'astronaut memorial' shots. Thanks.

Really??
</Innocently>

(Don't let on, but it was just a small, intentional jab at him since he made his own digs at other military branches during the conference - no doubt as a humorous nod to traditional inter-service rivalries. My dad was a submariner, so I picked Navy.) :)

He rattled off his "Herr Professor Doktor..." title preference so fast, and only once in my presence that I figured that this might get a quicker correction/clarification from him.

Honest, I've got nothing but respect for Hal as officer, gentleman and scholar.

Besides, I've consistently misled him in regards to my GPS coordinates... :D

Methinks I recognize Cliff Stoll's Klein hat and Mobius scarf! Here's his site: http://www.kleinbottle.com/ (scroll down to see the hat).
Cliff has been selling Klein bottles and other topologically non-orientable products out of his home in Oakland for many years. I went over there once to buy some Klein bottles, and got a tour of his secret backyard laboratory, which was filled with vintage digital/analog/mechanical computers from the last 50 years. Cool.

LOL. That is great. That's just how it came out of the camera, though. I didn't add the "orb". Thought it was amusing.

I was hoping to get a comment or two about this one (http://members.cox.net/electric_monk/TAM2003/0130-02-169.jpg), but maybe the thumbnail didn't look interesting enough and nobody read the sign. All three cars full of skeptics were immediately attracted to park under it.

I noticed that. Were all the parking areas designated with such colorful names?

People just aren't obserant enough! For instance, I don't think Hal has noticed the photographs of KFC in http://www.randi.org/vbulletin/showthread.php?s=&postid=322869#post322869 . :(

I noticed, but as Madison is a General I don't think he needs to take to much notice of an outfit run by a mere colonel. And KFC has gone down hill pretty far from the day when the colonel actually ran things...

Hey, Arctic Penguin! Off topic, but lately it seems as if you are getting bored with your avatar. I hope not, as it is definitely my favorite of any on this board (right side up, that is--I even like the penguin's stance, going forward.).

Tabby's avatar is a close second, but, imo, Arctic Penguin is the best.

OK, as promised, I have now added the narrative to my Amaz!ng Meeting pictures. Corrections, clarifications, and identifications of people in these photos are welcome.

Those who did not attend the Meeting are hereby notified that they must express feelings of intense jealousy for those of us who went. :p

Dude. Ten points. Excellent photo essay. Am stealing numerous digital photos that didn't come out on my film camera. Fantastic stuff. Really.

Electric Monk, that is fantastic. Do you mind if I post a link to this thread in another forum?
The trip to the Space Center was a lot of fun, but it turned out to be sort of ironic, didn't it?

Thanks Charlie and Lisa, I'm glad you liked it. I pushed to get it done this weekend before my memories of the details and how I felt faded too much.

If you want any of the photos in their full size/uncompressed glory, let me know, and I'll email/otherwise make them available.

Go ahead and post a link wherever you think there might be interest, Lisa. I'd like to know where it's going, so PM me where you've put a link, if you would.

Yeah, the meaning of the KSC trip really changed. I tried not to foreshadow that in the essay. I wanted to capture how I was feeling at the time.

Now that I'm done with the writing, I'm going to see how many more pics I can put on my website, and look in to the photo sharing sites.

Oh yeah. I'll take this opportunity to say that I'm really envious regarding your Ultimate Souvenir, Charlie!

Thanks,

Thank you, Electric Monk!! That was REALLY neat! You did a great job. :D

Oh... I just thought of something. I'm wondering if Seelie would mind placing all of these pictures or links to them in her House Of Souls. I'll ask.

Edited to add: Damn stupid wife* signing up and making me post under her screen name. I demand 1/50th of her future avatar.

I even got a correction from Michael Shermer's office manager on the spelling of her name, which was a subject of some debate a while ago: Tanja Sterrmann. She had noticed that people on the board were referring to her as "Anya".

It was fun to write, and now when I am asked how TAM was, I can just point to my site.
