This is from my hometown: Nashua Alderman Under Fire For Comments To German Man (http://www.wmur.com/news/8796386/detail.html)
NASHUA, N.H. -- A Nashua alderman is doing a lot of explaining after telling a German immigrant to go back where he came from if he dislikes city decisions.
Alderman Fred Teeboom, who is Jewish, acknowledged he has no great love for Germans. His family survived the Nazi occupation of the Netherlands by going into hiding. A few years ago, he won a lawsuit against someone who sent him anti-Semitic e-mails.
Now Teeboom is the one under fire -- after a German immigrant complained that Teeboom sent him an e-mail containing ethnic slurs.
Ludwig Heil emigrated to the United States in 1991. He moved his family to Nashua late last year. Heil said he was flabbergasted by Teeboom's reply to an e-mail criticizing a plan to cut school budgets. Teeboom's response opens with quote -- "Heil Ludwig" -- and goes on to suggest, "Perhaps you moved to the wrong state, time to go back to das fatherland."
