That quote, by the way,was reported in New scientist late last year, the week following the release of the Lancet report IIRC.

I thought it was extremely funny, and it still is sufficent to trigger a giggling fit, because it so true......

A Plabeco controlled, double blind, medical trial IS NOT a valid method of testing the EFFECTIVENESS of Homeopathy, because there is just no way, you are going to be able to prove it is anything other than a placebo, at best!

IE such a trial is improper (in the eyes of Homeopaths, that is, not mine.) because it proves homeopathy is Bunk!

They think "placebo" is something added into the medicine when it is being made. Perhaps you have to go down to the pharmacy and get 2kg of placebo to mix in their product??

A 0.0001% diluted solution of placebo should be adequate, and much cheaper.

I recall a Simson's episode where Homer buys something from Japan, but the box is full of Flu germs.

So - Springfield is hit by an epidemic.

There's a bunch of people outside Doctor Hibbert's Clinic demanding drugs against the Flu.

He tries to calm them, but ends up saying something like "go home, take asprin & go to bed. Anything else would just be a placebo".

So the crowd go on a rampage, overturning a truck and ransacking the boxes inside searching for these placebos!
