to keep things simple, if this is limited to the 3 main monothestic religions - christianity, islam and judaism...technically they should all worship the same god...but which religion's representation of god is the most vicious? Has this always been the case?
here are some starter questions....

1) Whose god has promised the cruelest fate for people of different religions?

2) Whose god orders the most violent plight for nonbelievers while on Earth?

3) Whose god orders the cruelest warfare?

4) Whose god has more contempt for homosexuals?

5) Whose god places the least value on the lives of women?

6) Whose god has prescribed the more vicious physical punishment of sinners?

Boring. Everybody knows all the nastiest and cruelest gods are from ancient polytheism. Oh those Greeks and their ironic punishments.

Arg! The Muslim god did all those OT things the Christian god is attacked for! Therefore the Muslim god is more vicious because he did more later on. This is an issue of quantity of core religious texts over quality.

I don't know. Xenu, according to Scientology, has killed trillions, IIRC.

Although I suppose technically he's not a god, but merely an extremely scientifically advanced alien.

They always seemed to put so much thought into their punishments and curses - I mean what do we get with the Muslim/Jewish/Christian God? A banishment, a few floggings oh and a bear tearing little kiddies to pieces. Just no style.

Screw all that, Cthulhu is the cruelest. He inspires people, while sleeping, how to torture and sacrifice and revel in the blood orgy and upon his return, us chosen few will bare witness to new and better ways to sacrifice and torture. Regardless of who you are or what you believe, hell you could worship him and he’ll still tell others to kill you for their and his enjoyment. Plus he will awaken all the other ancient gods and Cthulhu only knows what they’re like.

1)Jews don;t necessarilt beleive in a hell because there wasn't one mentioned in the old testament, especially in the Torah (gen, ex, lev, num, deut). Muslims believe Jesus was a prophet and his words are scripture.
xtians beleive Jesus is (Son of) God and his words are scripture.
Muslims-1 xtians-1 Jews-0

2)The knee jerk answer would be muslims, but that response would be based on extremists who pick and choose violent scripture. I say the 3 religions are equal.
muslims-2 xtians-2 jews-1

3)I have never read the Koran so going from the OT, which they all hold as scripture, they are all equal.
m-3 x-3 j-2

4)In the OT, men are not allowed to lay w/ men. BUT, xtians currently hold gays as perverts, evil, disgusting so I am placing those beliefs to the xtian god. I do not know about muslim and jew teachings though, but I'll give them .5.
m-3.5 x-4 j-2.5

5)Currently, muslims.
m-4.5 x-4 j-2.5

6)Physical punishment while alive or after resurrection? Yes, it actually matters. As I undesatnd, jewsdon't necessarily beleive in resurrection so to keep this as honest as possible I will assume punishment before death. I say all are equal due to the violence in the OT. Did you know king David was given 200 foreskins as a prize? Talk about, "off with their heads."
m-5.5 x-5 j-3.5

The muslim god is most vicious, followed closely by xtian god. A distant 3rd is the Jewish god IMO.

Lots of Xians are now accepting homosexuality, along with other practices strictly forbidden by the Bible they hold as divinely-inspired and (in some cases) inerrant. You might have noticed strong movements toward liberalization in the Methodist, Episcopalian (gay bishop, no less) and Presbyterian Churches. Several other denominations are already there.

I can't stand generalizations. You seem willing to admit a certain diversity of thought amongst Jews - and even Muslims - but not Xians?

And then folks wonder why we skeptics are perceived as having a particular bone to pick with Xianity.

I see your point about picking bones.
I realize in my answer #4 the Republican xtians in control of the US gov't flooded my mind. Considering their try to make homosexual marriage unconstitiutional during an election year I grouped all xtians, wrongly, into a single category in fast anger. That anger is not always conducive to the situation.
IMO I do think I gave some slack to xtians seeing that they came in 2nd.
Honestly I don't know if I have a bone to pick, though I see your reasoning. If I do I would contribute it to being taught since I was 18 months old about God, JC, Holy Ghost, prayer, tithing, fast offerings, priesthood, temples, baptism for the dead etc. etc. that once I discovered my own thoughts separate and individual from the collective Mormon Church I unleashed my fury at Mormons and xtians, being that Mormons are also xtians just of a different sort.
