View Full Version : The Arab Media Succeeded in Deceiving the People

The aim of the Arab satellite stations was to suggest that the allies were 'savage' in their treatment of civilians. Furthermore, respectable newspapers were not considered to be devout if they did not cover the sorrowful and tragic accident of the journalists who were killed by the coalition forces — in order, they said, to silence Arab satellite stations. Again, the question: Is it possible for the Arab media to be objective?"

Is it possible for ANY newspaper to be objective? Even in the US the newspaper are somewhat bias.
True, NOT as bias as others.
Isn't Al Jeezera, what some call less biased and open minded, owned by the government of Qatar?
I don't think you can expect much objectivity from that region.

I believe Al Jazeera is privately owned and essentially operates as independent media. They have a tougher time (assuming they are interested) in being independent as the region they primarly cover is authoritarian. Like in the West, Al Jazeera is subject to the whims of its audience as well as the nations where it would like to do reporting, only moreso.

Not at all in this case. The Arabic news organizations who were ALLOWED into Iraq knew who was buttering their bread, just like modern US news organizations with their hideous, dishonest, and unethical rightwing slant on everything know who butters their bread.
The Arab and the US media are just the same, they are pandering to where they see their money coming from, and in both cases it's the reactionary religious right.
