Quite by chance I learned that my friend of the 1970s and the man who introduced me to James Randi, Billy McComb had died on 30th April, in LA.
Billy's brilliance in performing small miracles to great effect amounted to near genius. Great bloke, great entertainer.

Many years ago on British TV in a series called "Call the Gun Expert", there was a programme about Chung Ling Soo's bullet catch trick, and his last fateful performance. The trick was re-enacted by I believe, Billy McComb.

Billy certainly had some theories about that event. Incidentally, my grandfather (whom I never met) was in the pit orchestra at the Wood Green Empire on the night in question...
